Are you prepared for the next blizzard when the power goes off??? Well the truth is, when it comes t oyour ferret, you already are! Of course, ferrets should stay inside, because they too can catch the common cold through stress and dampness, but aside from that, your ferret is fine! If your heat goes off, don't worry about your ferret freezing, because the truth is that ferrets are fine in cold weather, as long as they have a blanket and they are dry. Now as for the heat, you ask??? That is a different question! Your ferrets cannot take temperatures over eighty-five degrees well. They can suffer from dehydration, and heat stroke can occur within minutes! To make sure your ferret doesn't go through this, be sure to keep your home cool in the summer, provide lots of water, and keep your ferret's cage out of direct sunlight. |
