How do you know if your ferret has a fever??? Take it's temperature! Here's how:
First, shake the thermometer. Then, coat it with vaseline. You might need another person to help you distract the ferret, or to hold it. Treats work well as distraction techniques; so does Linatone. Insert the thermometer about a half inch into the animal's rectum. Hold in place and wait for one minute. A ferret's normal temperature ranges between 101 and 103 degrees. Anything out of that range calls for medical attention.
