Have fun! - The domestic ferret is believed to be derived from the European Polecat. - There are approximately 8 million domestic ferrets in the USA. - In the US, domestic ferrets cannot survive in the wild. - Domestic ferrets live about as long as a hedgehog, from six to nine years. - Male ferrets can be 2-3 times larger than females. - Similar to a group of wolves being called a pack, a group of ferrets is called a business. - Litters can be from one kit to sixteen. - A female ferret is called a jill, a male, a hob. - The ferret has been domesticated about 500 years longer than the house cat! - The American Ferret Association is the largest national ferret organization.
