| Before bringing a ferret home, ferret proof your house! A ferret is a curious animal, and will stop at nothing to explore the unknown. There are so many things a ferret can get into! Start with holes. A ferret will get into one. Maybe he'll get stuck. Maybe he'll enjoy himself so much he wont come out. You dont know what goes on in those holes!!! Block them off. EVERY SINGLE ONE!!! Keep in mind that ferrets can even worm under doors!!! Dont fly by a hole thinking 'he cant get through that'. Ferrets will amaze you with their special ways! It's for your ferrets own good. Next, barracade household appliances. Actually you shouldn't let them in the kitchen at all! Things like heaters or stoves might burn the ferret. A ferret might take a snooze under the refrigerator. You never know. Ferrets will play with any thing! This might lead to choking and health problems. Anything small might end up in your ferrets throat...where your ferret is in the most danger. It will choke! String will catch and tangle in the intestines. Dont misjudge the looks of anything. A ferret ALWAYS finds a way. Now that you read this article... go ferret proof your home!!! |
