You should be prepared with a kit for your ferrets medical emergencies, and for disasters. You can use a tool box or a fishing tackle box for one of these. It might be nice to have it in a bright color also. You should keep medical and first aid supplies in the box at all times. Listed below are some things you should have ready in your kit.

1. Karo syrup, for low blood sugar
2. Oral syringes for measuring and administering medicine
3. A large eyedropper
4. Pedialyte (to prevent dehydration)
5. Bandaids
6. Styptic powder
7. Antibiotic ointment
8. Medical tape or vet wrap
9. Hydrogen peroxide
10. Gauze pads
11. Gauze, cotton balls, Q-tips
12. Nail clippers
13. Benadryl
14. Cold medicine
15. Pepto bismal
16. A heating pad (if a ferret is too cold, never allow him/her direct contact to the heating pad and always put it on the lowest temperature)
17. Ensure (in case of nutritional deficiency)
18. Ointment for eye injury
19. Electrolyte replacement crystals
20. Thermometer
21. Steral water
22. Popsicle sticks
23. Scissors
24. Disinfectant

Ask your vet if there is anything else he/she recommends.
