Deep Thoughts
By AndrAIa's Love
Enzo Matrix lay on his bed, kids tucked in and his wife fast asleep beside
him. He turned and looked at AndrAIa who was curled in the fetal position
and smiled, "I don't know what I'd do without you." He commented to her,
even though she didn't hear him.

He laid there with his hands behind his head and wondered what would of
happened if he had never met her. He remembered the day when the game cube
hit. It was faint but he would never forget it. He was in the Diner. Feeling
sorry for himself. Cecil yelled at him to get out of the way of the Game but
he ignored it. He remembered Dot saying stay out of them, he took her advice
and left the Diner just in time. He wandered towards the Principal Office to
see Phong and wait for Bob and Dot. They returned a little while later. It
took longer than usual, must have been a hard game.

So if he hadn't met AndrAIa then he never would of fallen in love with her.
So then there'd be no AndrAIa at all and his two children wouldn't exist
either. He decided to skip that thought altogether and move onto the time he
nearly lost her to a web creature. But then he realised that would be even
worse to think about. What if she'd died on the Saucy Mare. The thoughts
were more vivid. And they seemed a lot more real.

"ENZO!" Her scream seemed like he was there and he turned to AndrAIa just to
see if she really was calling his name. Ray flew over to her as fast as he
could and Matrix targeted the web creature. They took her to a small room in
the belly of the ship and Ray laid her down on the bed. She flickered
constantly and was transparent. Her eyes closed and her heart not beating..
She flickered once more and then disappeared. Matrix then thought of what he
would actually do if she had died, "NO!" He leaped at the bed, tears
streaming from his eyes, "No! AndrAIa! It can’t be true!" Ray had tears
streaming down his cheeks and Matrix was in despair. He collapsed onto the
floor in a mess of tears. Frisket whimpered and laid down next to him. Ray
decide to leave Matrix alone and went up to the deck. Matrix heard the
Captains voice as Ray told him she didn't make it, "It's broke me heart to
loose such a gallant lady." Matrix fell asleep for a little while and woke
up to the sound of a crashing noise. He turned to see Mr. Christopher
rolling down the stairs. Matrix was real and tired and wanted him to go
away, "Matrix. The Captain needs you. We're under attack!" He looked up
slowly, "But AndrAIa. She's….gone."
"PLEASE!" Matrix slowly walked up the stairs to the main deck, his eyes
stinging and clouded with tears.

Matrix snapped out of his deep thoughts by the soft sounds he was always
alert to and two shadows in the door way. "Daddy?" Whispered a small voice.
Matrix sat up to see both of his kids standing in the doorway, "We can't
sleep." Said Switch. His little girl who looked exactly like AndrAIa with
her blue hair and brown skin. He got up and walked over to them. Matrix's
feet woke AndrAIa. She sat up and smiled at Matrix who had both kids in his
arms, the kids squirming around like fish out of water. She rolled her eyes
at Matrix at his lack of compassion "Come on. Sit up here for a while" She
called and the two kids squiggled out of their fathers arms and ran and
jumped onto the bed and snuggled up to either side of their mother. Matrix
rolled his eyes at the hyper-active kids and sat back on the bed only to be
knocked off again by his son from behind, Sim. Who looked a lot like
himself, only Sim had blue eyes. The boy laughed at his father in a crumpled
heap on the floor and Matrix smiled and then laughed. The three looked at
him strangely. AndrAIa's mouth was wide open. She'd never heard him laugh in
minutes. He tackled his son and almost quashed him, but Sim loved the
attention never the less.

The kids had finally fallen asleep on the end of the bed likes puppies and
Matrix carried both of them out and into their room. He walked back in,
closed the door, brushed his hands off and breathed a sigh of relief.
AndrAIa laughed, "Reminds me of you when you were young." Matrix pulled a
sarcastic smile, "Yeah and now I have to live with three of me." He sat down
on the bed and swung around. AndrAIa was smiling her own
hyper-active smile at him, just to get at his backup. Matrix decided to say
again what he'd said when she was asleep, "AndrAIa, I don't know what I'd do
without you."
