| Several User Moths Earlier:- Enzo stared out the classroom window and hoped for something good to happen. High School was boring even with more sprites in Mainframe and he longed for adventure and excitement that he was denied because he was too young to go into Games. At the same time the rest of the gang and a few others were lounging around the Diner, bored out of their bitmaps. Matrix was pretending to shoot binomes and sprites that walked pass the Diner, Dot was spinning her organizer, Bob was crunching on an energy bar with little enthusiasm, Ray and Mouse were drinking energy shakes and AndrAIa was extending and retracting her nails, also with little enthusiasm. Dot looked at the clock for the 1 millionth time and sighed, "Why is it when you want time to go faster it slows down?" She threw her hands up and slammed her elbows down onto the counter. Her face was stunned for a moment then it turned to pain, "OW OW OW OW OW!" She yelled. Everyone looked up and began to laugh. She stormed over to Bob who was laughing the hardest and yelled at him, "What is so funny Guardian?" Bob's face went blank then lit up again, "You hit your funny bone!" Dot pulled a sarcastic smile and then slapped him hard on the shoulder and then sat down again, calming herself as much as she could and everyone went back to doing what they were. ***** The lunch bell rang and Enzo and the rest of his class burst out of the classroom and into the cafeteria to eat. Enzo grabbed the usual Friday special and sat down at his usual table. About 4 other sprites and 2 binomes gradually joined him. The first to arrive sat down and smiled at him, "Hey Enzo. Howz it goin?" Asked a green sprite with long aqua hair. Enzo smiled while poking his food with a fork, "Not much Switch, what bout you?" "Ahh, same old same old. English, Math, Science. The most boring classes in history, besides History." The girl laughed at her bad joke on purpose, trying to get a raise out of her well, father/brother. Enzo managed to smile at Switch's bad jokes every time. She did it on purpose and he enjoyed someone like him to share spare time with. She was just as hyperactive as he was and he liked having a kindred spirit as such with him in Mainframe. Switch began eating her food, whilst taking the time to poke it and prod it. Enzo looked over to her, "What are you doing?" He asked raising an eyebrow. Without looking up she replied, "Just checking that nothing is still alive in here." Enzo laughed, "Yeah. The Friday special is always like that." Two boys then arrived at the table. Both with hyper orange hair and tanned skin. They were identical twins to Mouse and Ray and they were really into of course surfing and hacking. Ray Jr. sat next to Enzo and he and Enzo did their own little high five-symbol thing. Ray looked over to Switch, "So still considering my offer?" He asked smiling. Switch looked up from eating, "Yeah. And the answer is no! For the 50th time. What are you basic?" Ray crossed his arms and frowned, "PLEASE! Please go out with me!" Switch ignored Ray's desperate attempts to get a girlfriend. She turned her attention to Mack who was simply Switch eating, trying his best not to look at anyone. Switch looked over at him, "What's wrong Mack?" Before Mack could look up his brother piped in, "The woos got into a fight and he lost! Got a black eye in the process of course!" Mack's brother began laughing and Switch threw Ray an evil look. Ray eased off immediately and raised his hands in a backing down manner. "Take it easy Switch. I was only plain around wid ya." The rest sat down in due time including Enzo's half sister, Dolly. When the bell rang for next period they all departed their separate ways except for Switch and Mack. They walked away together. "Wanna ditch last period and go to an arcade?" Asked Switch to Mack as he slowly walked towards his class, he looked up and his eyes brightened, "Sure!" He grabbed Switch's hand and they raced out of the school and headed for the mall. Once outside the gates they threw out their zip boards and sped towards the huge newly built mall in Baudway. They reached the mall in less than a micro and they ran towards the arcade. Once inside Switch and Mack emptied their pockets and got tokens for all of the games and rides. Switch loved arcades because she kicked butt at all of the games all the time. Mack stuffed the tokens into his pocket and looked over to Switch who was rubbing her hands together in a plan to whoop Mack's bitmap. Mack smiled, "5 Units says I beat you in the first game. My choice though." Switch looked over to Mack and smiled, "Bring it on." Mack ran over to his favorite pinball machine and put in a token and pressed two player.. After paying Mack for loosing the two spent the rest of their tokens on car and shooting games. Mack didn't win that often but had fun trying anyway. It was about 1800 hours before they left and the sky was a beautiful pink colour. "Can I walk you home?" Asked Mack, slightly blushing. Switch smiled, "Sure. Why not. At least it's not your brother." Mack smiled and took her hand. Once finally at her door after taking every stop and long way they could think of. Talking about endless topics Mack smiled and began to walk towards his door, only down the hall a little. "Wait." Switch called and Mack wheeled around, "Thanks for walking me home." Mack blushed and Switch leant over and kissed him on the cheek. She walked inside and Mack just stood there. When it finally dawned on him what had happened he bolted for the door so he could brag to his brother. Switch closed the door behind her with a smile on her face. That smile quickly sank away when she saw her father standing in the living room. She slowly walked over to Matrix who was fuming. "Hi. Dad." She managed to stammer, nervously waving. Matrix frowned, "Where in the net were you!?" He yelled and Switch stepped back in shock, "I was just with Mack at the mall." AndrAIa walked out from the kitchen, "Enzo?" She asked, "Stay out of this AndrAIa." Matrix looked down on Switch who had her teeth gritted together, "You shouldn't have gone anywhere without my permission! You’re grounded!" Switch’s fists clenched together and she ran to her room, "I hate you! You’re so mean!" She screamed at the top of her lungs and slammed the door behind her. She jumped on her bed and tried to calm down. There was a small knock at the door, "Go away!" She yelled. AndrAIa knocked again and heard Switch yell again and then heard a load crash on the door. AndrAIa turned away and walked into the living room. The weekend had passed and Switch hadn't come out of her room. She came out at about 0630hrs and quickly left for school. She threw out her zip board and jumped on and went to the place where the gang always met up every morning. She sped into the park at what once was lost angles and stepped off. Throwing her back to the ground she walked over to the guys and plonked down on the garden bench. Enzo sat down next to her, "What's up?" He asked cheerfully. Switch scowled at Enzo, "Matrix grounded me for the whole weekend." "Damn. That's harsh." "Tell me about it!" At that note Mack and Ray showed up and walked over to the two. The sky above them turned a hazy blue and then grey. Everyone looked up, "Game?" Asked Enzo with excitement, "No. Something else." Switch added shakily. The grey cloud began to swirl and a tear opened up and a shape dropped down from it and landed about 5 feet from the sprites. Instantly the cloud disappeared and left keeling there an elegant figure. The figure who was on its knees had long blonde hair and olive skin. A black flame tattoo ran from her neck and down her right arm. She looked up at the sprites and revealed her aqua blue eyes. Enzo's heart thumped in his chest. He had never seen anything so cool looking in his life. As she stood up the group gasped at her outfit. Short denim shorts with splayed edges on them, a small white tank top with a small made to fit leather jacket. They also realised that her tattoo went down her back and the side of her left leg to about half way down her thigh. She held in her hand a decent sized gun and a knife was placed on the side of her boot that were rather like Matrix's. She looked around her new environment and blinked a few times. Switch stepped forward. She had a funny feeling about this girl, "Who are you?" She asked, crossing her arms. The girl slowly looked over to Switch, "Lexx. Who are you?" "Hold it!" Yelled Bob's voice as he and Matrix arrived on the scene. Lexx drew her gun and two yellow targets with an L on them flew to the two men's heads. Matrix's jaw dropped at the similarity of this girl's weapon to his. The two men stopped dead in their tracks. "Nobody tells me what to do." Her gun began to shake, and she wobbled and fell to the ground. The targets disappeared from Bob and Matrix’s heads and they slowly walked towards the unconscious girl. Enzo ran to Lexx’s side, “Do you think she’ll be ok?” He asked looking up at Bob, “I guess.” He said. Matrix looked to the sky, “What kind of a portal was that? Did anyone catch a glimpse?” “It was a Web portal.” Said Ray as he walked over towards Lexx, peering over Enzo’s shoulder. Bob opened a Vid Window and called Dot who was at the Principal Office. “Hi Bob, What’s up?” “Hi Dot. Look we’ve got a Code 236 down at Lost Angles Park could you send a unit down here please.” “Sure Bob. Bye.” Bye.” The Vid Window closed and within a nano a unit of C.P.Us arrived with an ambulance. 3 Sprites quickly put Lexx onto a stretcher and everyone started to head towards the Principal Office. Switch began to walk towards her zip board but was interrupted by Matrix who picked up her zip board, away from her reach, “You’re going to school.” He said, throwing her bag at her. Switch caught her bag and immediately threw it back. “I’m 1.3 dad you can’t control my life anymore!” Switch yelled to Matrix as she ran towards Mack who was waiting for her. She jumped onto the zip board with Mack and they sped off together towards the Principal Office with the others. Matrix’s eye glowed red but then he frowned, ***** “You’re right Switch, he can’t control your life anymore.” Said Mack as they made their way to the Principal Office. Switch nodded her head in agreement, “I know. He thinks that I’m still 0.1 or something. Trying to fix mistakes that he made as a kid or something.” The two arrived at the Principal Office’s main doors and they walked into the main room, finding everyone crowded around a wall with a window in it. The two pushed through a crowd of binomes and sprites to the window. They couldn’t see much, “Hey guys! Over here!” Called Enzo who was near a door. The two pushed their way towards Enzo. Once they reached him Enzo opened the door and the three walked into the room where Lexx was contained. Phong and Ray were busy with tests and calculations. Enzo’s eyes where wide and you could tell he was giddy with excitement. “Isn’t she cool?” He asked to the two. Switch frowned, “I dunno Enzo. I don’t like the vibes I’m getting from her.” “Yeah she is isn’t she.” Said Mack stepping forward, “Mack!” Exclaimed Switch. Ray looked up and towards Switch, “Well at least I know my boy has good taste.” Switch looked shocked, had Ray said what he had just said. Ray noticed what he had just said, “I mean.. Well…” Switch threw up her hands, “Too much testosterone here. See y’all all later.” And switch walked out of the room and made her way home to face her most likely infuriated father. She entered her house and it was quiet, too quiet, “Mum?” She asked, looking around. AndrAIa poked her head out from the kitchen, “What are you doing home?” She asked, walking out, “Well I went to the Principal Office with Mack to see that girl who came from the Web. Where is Dad?” AndrAIa threw up her hands, “I haven’t seen him since this morning.” Switch flopped on the lounge and watched Nullémon. ***** Matrix sat at the bar and sipped an energy shake. Bob walked in after a little while and walked over to Matrix, “Why so glum Enzo?” He asked while ordering a shake from Cecil, “I’m a failure as a father.” He said, not even looking up. Dot heard this and came out from the kitchen, “Why do you say that Enzo?” She asked, putting down her tea towel and pulling up a chair on the other side of the counter. Matrix looked up at his sister, “Switch hates me for starters! AndrAIa is always telling me to go easy on her, not to mention I have no control over her. She doesn’t do anything I say!” Matrix threw his hands up in despair, “Well if you ask me Enzo, she’s too much like you.” Said Bob raising an eyebrow. Matrix looked up, “Hey! You’re right Bob!” Matrix jumped up and ran out the door. ***** Lexx woke up and looked around. She immediately reached for her gun but it was gone. Ray, Phong and Enzo loomed over her, “Give me back my gun!” She yelled at Ray who was holding it away from her, “Not until you tell us who you are and where you’re from.” Lexx looked from Ray to Phong to Enzo.. “If I tell you I’ll have to delete you.” “Cute, real cute.” Ray said, tapping his foot impatiently. Lexx scowled at Ray and then looked over to Enzo, who was eager to hear what she had to say, “I’m Lexx. I’m from the Web.” “Now we are getting somewhere.” Commented Phong, “Who are you?” Lexx asked to Phong, “I am Phong. The Command.Com of this system.” “Can I leave yet?” She asked, sitting up, “Not without someone.” Said Ray giving back her gun. She put it in its holder and jumped up off the table, “I’ll go with her!” Said Enzo. He grabbed Lexx’s hand and ran out with her, “I’ll show her around!” ***** Matrix returned home to find Switch watching TV she looked over to her father, “Ok, ok I’m going to my room.” She got up, “You’re not grounded Switch.” Switch swung around and ran to her father. She put the back of her hand to Matrix’s forehead, “Mum! I think Dad’s been infected by some virus!” Matrix rolled his eyes and Switch sat down. AndrAIa came running out, “What!?” She screamed to Switch. Matrix shook his head, “Yeah Mum, I’m not grounded!” AndrAIa put her guard down and rolled her eyes. “You freaked me out girl.” She walked back towards the bedroom but quickly returned, “She’s not grounded? Wow this is amazing! AndrAIa sat down next to Switch. Matrix walked into the kitchen and came out with a sandwich, “She’s too much like me.” He managed to say with his mouth full, “And you’re telling me you’ve only just realised this?” Said AndrAIa raising an eyebrow. Switch jumped up, “Thanks Dad!” She ran out the door towards the Diner. To Be Continued... |
