The Daemon Saga
Part 4 – An Early Arrival

“Begin!” Phong yelled, and the battle began. Enzo, quite a bit older,
effortlessly transformed. His longer hair spiked up, went white and a strong
green glow surrounded him. At the other end of the arena, Mouse transformed
as well. Her hair took on a green and black color, and was surrounded by a
pink glow. Enzo launched the first attack, leaping into the air and aiming a
punch at Mouse. She was far too quick, and ran around behind him before he
landed and kicked him in the back.
Enzo got to his feet again and launched a flurry of punches. Most of these
hit their target and Mouse fell to the ground. “End!” Phong said. The battle
arena disappeared, and the three were left standing in a large chamber in
the P.O.
“Great workout” said Mouse.
“I’ll say.” agreed Enzo.
“Me too!” said a familiar voice.
Enzo spun around, and Laser was standing in the doorway. “Miss me?” He said.
“Laser!” Mouse said, ”You’re three minutes early!”
“I see you’ve trained yourselves well” he said. “How about the others?”
“Ray and Bob have done it too, and Matrix and AndrAIa finally did it a few
minutes ago. But I was the first!” Enzo said, grinning widely.
“Really?” asked Laser.
“He never shuts up about it either!” said Mouse.
“Where are the others?” asked Laser
“Training” Enzo said. “Were totally ready to kick those robot’s bitmaps!”

Mike was having a bad day. He had asked all the other electrical appliances
in Bob’s apartment out, and none would even talk to him. After he had failed
with the Toaster Oven, he realized none of the other appliances could talk.
So he conjured another brilliant plan – sign language! And who said he was a
stupid, talkative appliance? He was brainstorming on this brilliant plan
when he received an important broadcast.

Outside the 8-ball apartment, a portal was created. Two teenage sprites
casually walked through.
“Eugh. What a dump.” Said one.
“TenFour, this is Mainframe. A backwater town in a vast energy sea.” Said
the other “And the final step in Dr. Zero’s master plan” said the first.
“Hey, TwoSix. Would it hurt to have a little fun before we exterminate all
life in this system?” asked the second, stretching a palm toward the
apartment block.
“No. Go right ahead.” Said the first, Doing the same. A bolt of electricity
surrounded the block and the whole building burnt to the ground.

“Enzo, stop that!” Dot said. Enzo was throwing objects at Bob, who smashed
them to pieces. Not things like balls, etc. Cars! He was so irresponsible!
And Bob! He should know better! Mike’s interruption brought a halt to her
train of thought. The crew listened to the televised report:
“…has been advised to stay indoors. These strange sprites appear to be
looking for something.” The camera locked on to two teenager sprites,
walking away from a trail of destruction, burning rubble and collapsed
buildings. Their faces showed no expression. Everyone knew who these people
were. The robots Laser had warned them of. TenFour and TwoSix. They had
arrived. The reporter continued “These sprites appear to be making their way
to Dot’s Diner, and…oh, no! They’ve seen us! Everybody…” White noise filled
the screen.

“Alright everybody” Laser said. “Today is the day I live twice, but this
time as a fighter! We have to destroy those two creatures or all of your
time and effort will be wasted. Are you ready?” He got a unanimous yes.
“Alright. Let’s free our future!!”

Next – How will the final battle unfold? Have the three years the crew had
to train enough? Find out in the finale – The Final Battle / A Quest of
