Welcome to False Word. The website that shows its side of the debate for the word/letters Pwn. As you read on, you will see the beliefs about this word and what we think too.

We've heard of people who really believe Pwn is a word. And we've heard of people who really believe Pwn is not a real word. Our Story is long and confusing unless you were there. But to make this story short. We've done research of the word Pwn and got nothing. What does this mean? It means that the word Pwn is new, made up from someone. The word Pwn is slang. For own. We've gone to wikipedia and have found little. The Facts we have are that the word Pwn is a verb. Like the word Own. Past tense is as follows, pwned, pwnd, pwn'd, pwnt. But still. As people go through grade school and learn more in english class. Can the letter 'P' really make a word with the letter 'W'?. (Look it up yourself- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pwn) And now... we research. Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, and Alta Vista What did we come up with? Pwn is known as; PAIWAN: a language of Taiwan. (www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=PWN ). And at Ask Jeeves, We got The Origin of Pwn. Except, it was with the American Army! What does this have to do with anything? Well it makes us believe more and more that Pwn is not a real word. But it was Altivista that stopped our search. Microsoft talks about Pwn. Why? This is a computer company. (http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/children/kidtalk.mspx). It shows and talks about slang and different words kids use on the internet. This is what we found: pwn: "A typo-deliberate version of own, a slang term often used to express superiority over others that can be used maliciously, depending on the situation. This could also be spelled "0\/\/n3d" or "pwn3d," among other variations. Online video game bullies or "griefers" often use this term." What's this? It says ONLINE VIDEO GAME BULLIES! Meaning, if your unfriendly you use this? Exactly.

Then we looked up the word slang. And what we saw showed us that SLANG are NOT real words. Unless you look on an online slang dictionary. You won't find any type of slang, in any other dictionary. And that brings us to what we believe. We believe that PWN.... is NOT a REAL WORD. From the information we found and the websites we have seen. We can't even see ourselves believing this word is real. It is SLANG and SLANG is NEVER a real word. Slang is an abbreviate for words basically. And by using the word Pwn, just looks like a mispelling and therefore makes you look silly if you don't correct yourself. So never time you play an online video game. Correct yourself if you say PWN instead of OWN.
