| Resume & Cover Letters |
Resumes should focus upon your most significant skills and qualifications. Let that prospective employer know what you can do for them! These skills can either be summarized at the beginning of the resume or within a specific section of your resume. By listing accomplishments within your resume, you can show how you would be an asset to their company.
The Three Most Critical Items of Your Resume Are:
**Packaging--the first impression is key to getting your resume noticed
**Organization--get the reader's attention in the first 15 seconds
**Substance--making your qualifications meet an employer's needs
The cover letter is a marketing tool to highlight your skills and state your objective. It should arouse the attention of the reader, be clear, and well-organized. Remember, cover letters are required when the resume is mailed. |
