Series's revolving around Gundams have been popular in Japan for over 21 years( the first episode was aired in 1979).Gundam Wing is the most well-known series. It is the tenth series in the fifteen series/movies set that is based on Gundams. Gundam Wing is made up of forty-nine episodes, each lasting for approximately twenty-nine minutes. It was originally aired in Japan from 1995-1996, and it was so popular( like DragonBall Z, Pokemon, etc) that Bandai decided to bring it to the USA. It became as well-loved in the USA, and from there it spread all over the world- fast becoming the most popular of all the Gundam series's, probably because of the younger pilots(aged 15-16).
Endless Waltz is a film starring the same characters, that takes place about a year after the end of Gundam Wing. It is usually shown as a three-part episode, edited slightly to make it fit into the time slots. Endless Waltz is a sequel to Gundam Wing, but it also acts as a prequel because the characters have flashbacks of their lives before the beginning of Gundam Wing.
