In-depth: Quatre is one of the most friendly Gundam pilots, and he gets on well with almost anyone. He always gives enemies a chance to surrender before he attacks and, most of the time, he tries to avoid fighting. If he had a choice, he would probably be a pacifist and not fight at all, but he wants to protect the colonies and the people who live on them from Oz.
This leaves him even more upset than anyone else would be when the leaders of the colony his father controlled and the civilians living on it, call for his father to resign... and then open fire when he refuses.
The shock causes him to go temporarily insane and he completes the Wing Gundam Zero and pilots it into a one-man war against the colonies.
The Zero System takes over his mind-while under it’s influence he almost destroys Trowa and Heero . Seeing Trowa’s mobile suit explode brings him back to reality, and he begins to fight with the other Gundam pilots , not against them, again.
A note on Quatre ’s past: Quatre is the only boy in his family and he is also the only child to be born naturally. His twenty-nine older sisters are all test-tube babies, as are most of the people Quatre knows, but his mother died shortly after giving birth to him so his father let him believe that he was also a test-tube baby so he wouldn’t be sad about what had happened. In fact, this has the opposite effect-Quatre believes he is worthless and runs away. He meets the Maganacs and helps them because he feels sorry for them-none of them were born naturally, and most of them don’t even know who their parents were. He brings them and Instructor H home with him-he later helps Instructor H build the Gundam Sandrock and, against his father’s wishes, pilots it to Earth.
Meaning of name: “Quatre” means “Four” in French.
