Extra skills: What can’t this guy do? He can fight both in a mobile suit and hand-to-hand. He can hack into computers and everything else a soldier might be required to know!
He is also the only person to fully master The Zero System !
In-depth: Heero is very serious about completing his mission and he doesn’t care if his life pays the price for this. He is the only Gundam pilot to be intercepted on his way to Earth-all the others arrived safely. He is washed up on a beach where he is found by Relena. He attacks the staff in the hospital she called for him and drives away in it. Later when he sees her at school, he tells her that he’s going to kill her because she saw his face, but whenever he gets his chance he can’t kill her- much to his confusion!
When he and the other Gundam pilots are fighting against Oz, he self-detonates , rather than give up.
He believes that his life is worth nothing and nobody can persuade him otherwise-until the end of Gundam Wing, when he determines to survive and return to the friends he has made.
Heero gets annoyed at Duo’s cheerful approach to his mission, but he soon realizes that Duo isn't as carefree as he likes to pretend. He learns to trust all the other Gundam pilots-when they first meet, they regard each other as enemies.
He teams up with Trowa for a while when he wakes up from the coma he went into when he self-detonated, and then Quatre on his way to the Sanc Kingdom. He also fights with Wufei for a while, so he gets to know all the Gundam pilots pretty well!
Heero has been trained so hard that he sometimes seems like a machine-can do everything right, and has no feelings-but his feelings are still there and he shows them, but not on the battlefield.He is often percieved as the "emotionless" pilot, but he actually shows a lot of different feelings throughout the series.
Heero changes a lot throughout the Gundam Wing television series-at the beginning of it he doesn't care about his life at all, but in the last episode he tells himself that he "will survive" .
If you haven’t seen Gundam Wing yet , then you’ll get a better idea of what Heero and the other Gundam pilots are like by watching the series-it might be nice to read what other people have written about them but nothing can beat the actual thing!
A note on Heero ’s past: Not really much to tell here-we don’t know much about Heero before he became a Gundam pilot! I’m not sure if this is true, but I’ve heard that his real name is Odin Lowe Jnr and his father was the one who was forced to kill the real Heero Yuy by Oz.
Meaning of name: I heard that Heero Yuy means “one and only” Suits him, doesn’t it?
He took his name from the pacifist colony leader who was assassinated on the orders of Oz-I think Heero probably feels that he has to live up to this name and succeed in his mission.
