Extra skills: I don’t know if anyone else would regard this as an extra skill, but I think it is-being able to cheer everybody up when things aren’t going quite to plan!

In-depth: Duo is the most cheerful(at least he appears that way, but I think he's really hiding his emotions beneath a mask...) of the Gundam pilots (and some, people would say, the most normal !! ), but when he goes into battle he earns the nickname of “Shinigami” (“The God of Death”)because he is serious about his mission.
Duo is the most relaxed, and likes to lead a normal life when he’s not battling in his Gundam! He tries to persuade the other Gundam pilots to join in, but he isn’t usually very successful!
I think that Duo is hiding his true feelings-although he may seem unfailingly cheerful, he is not really such a happy person inside.Several times during the series his real feelings are shown, but most people still seem to regard him as the "happy" pilot.He always puts a smile on his face, no matter how upset he is-sometimes he even manages to fool his friends.He very rarely lets his true feelings show.
Duo is many peoples favourite because he’s so friendly (Heero, Trowa and Wufei act very anti-social most of the time!)
Duo may appear to be relaxed but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a good mobile suit pilot-he and the Gundam Deathscythe are a good team!

A note on Duo’s past: Duo grew up as an orphan on Colony L2, living with a group of other kids who were in the same situation. A father at a church named Maxwell took them in(Duo took his surname from this). At the church a sister named Helen plaited Duo’s hair because he refused to cut it!
One day some soldiers from Oz came to the church and started to bother the people there-they said they would leave them alone if Duo stole a mobile suit for them.
When Duo returned after taking a mobile suit, he found the church razed to the ground and everybody gone.
He tried to steal the Gundam Deathscythe to take revenge on these soldiers, but was caught - Professor G liked him and decided to send him to Earth with the Gundam Deathscythe to attack Oz. Duo really became a Gundam pilot so he could avenge the death of the only family, and destruction of the only home, he had known.

Meaning of name: Duo means two. He took the name after his best friend(Solo, meaning “one” ) died. He promised Duo that he would always be with him so Duo took his name for “two”
He took his surname from the father at the church that took him in (Maxwell)
