Here is some info. on the main charachters and the story. It is 4 discs long. One disc longer than Final Fantasy VII. I just bought the game. IT IS FANTASTIC!
Squall Leonhart- This teenager seeks a position in SeeD. He is emotionless though. He is determined to graduate from Garden and have a promising career in SeeD. His weapon is a gunblade, a sword that has the hilt part a gun. It is rumored that he and Laguna Loire have some kind of realationship, which is found out in a dream. The extent of this relationship is unknown.
Laguna Loire- He has become a succesful journalist after being a proud soldier. He is a well-respective and optimistic person. He graduated from Galbadia, an opposing force of SeeD. He encounters Squall in a dream and has some unknown relationship with him.
Rinoa Heartilly- She is shy, but honest when around others. Throughout the game, she developes a relationship with Squall. She is from a town known as Timber, which was taken over by Galbadia soldiers. She then formed an alliance known as the "Owls of the Forest." She learns that a witch is making descisions to start a war, so she searches for Squall, Seifer, and Zell to stop her.
Zell Dincht- Zell becomes a member of SeeD to follow his grandfather's footsteps. He may be short-tempered, but does have a sense of humor. Through experience, he became a martial arts master and powerful warrior.
Selphie Tilmett- She joins Garden as a recomandation to SeeD. She was a transfer student and you bump into her in the beggining of the game. Her previous Garden was smaller, but she soon began to like the new Graden she is at. She is a friend and student of Squall. Little is known about her.
Quistis Trepe- She joined Garden at age 10, but her amazing fighting skills earned her a position in SeeD at age 15. She teaches students at the Garden and is known as "Trepe Teacher." She got her Instructor Liscene at age 17 and has tough for 1 year.
Seifer Almasy- He is talented in fighting, but his warlike experience and short temper lost him a position in SeeD. He is jealous of Squall's talent for fighting. His rivalry against Squall made him begin to act like he was the best. He and Squall end up in a fight and both have the same scar on thier face as well as weapons. He is a law enforcer in the Balamb Garden and is assisted by Raijin and Fuujin. Seifer joins Edea while holding the President of Galbadia hostage and after that, he seemed to dissappear for a while. I hear in the game, you have to fight him.
Irvine Kinneas- He is a student at the Galbadia Garden responsible for an attack and takeover at the Dollet Satelite. He may be a little over confident and thinks he is the best shooter around. Not much is known about him.
Cid Krammer- (YES. ANOTHER CID, BUT NOT LIKE CID HIGHWIND!) Not much is known about Cid except that he has a high position in Garden. His students are feared and elite throughout Garden.
Edea- She is a vilinous charachter in the story. VERY little is known about her, but she is believed to be a witch and appeared in the "Witch Parade." She is believed to be behind Galbadia taking over the world. After that attack and takeing over of the Dollet Satelite, Galbadia declared war on Public Broadcast. It is said that witches have mind controlling powers, and that in many screen shots from other FF8 sites, she is seen with Rinoa and Seifer. Little is known if they are under her power or not.
The whole story...
SeeD brought peace to the world. In order to join SeeD, you must train hard at Garden and pass the graduation exam.
A witch appears and threatens the world. Though her magic is feared, she is praised.
The Owls of the Forest are not good at battles against Galbadia. SeeD tried to help.
Squall has many missions. He meets Rinoa at a dinner party and meet later. He has a dream about Laguna. He is said to have a relationship with Squall.
Everyone in SeeD is after Galbadia who is led by the witch.
