WELCOME to my little corner of the web... Don't forget to look at the other pages on this site before you leave!
 My name is Maria, though my good friends (and very young children) often call me "Ria". The inspiration for the title of this page came from the hours I spent as a little girl--rocking in my miniature rocking chair--singing and dreaming of being Cinderella (Rodgers and Hammerstein's version). I still believe in fairy tales and sometimes...I dream of being whisked into an enchanted life.
Now I'll tell you about some of my interests.
I am a Gothnik (American Gothic fan), a Trekker, a Dark Shadows devotee and a die-Hard Forever Knight crusader (just love those anti-heroes!). I'm nuts about Buffy, The Vampire Slayer and I must not forget my ardor for The Phantom of the Opera,particularly, Susan Kay's novel.  Then there is Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Star Wars.
I am a performer at heart, but I prefer being part of an ensemble rather than going solo.
 I like to read whenever I find time, write short stories, poetry, and I am passionate about music--my tastes are eclectic.
I have a deep spirituality that may seem quirky to others.
