*****UNDER CONSTRUCTION NOT COMPLETED****
SPRAY ON CONDITIONER:
I found this recipe in a book under the grooming section. I have not yet tried it but I have heard that it works well and leaves the coat shiny.
Ingredients:
Warm water
Cider vinegar
Baby oil
(combine in equal parts)
Listerine (add less so as to make the coat less sticky.)
Add these in a spray bottle, spray on to a towel or terry cloth and rub into the horse's coat.
TAIL CONDITIONER:
I found this in the same book. This is to be use on THE DOCK of the tail only, adding in to the mane or tail part will make it quite gunky. It makes the tail, longer and stimulates better, softer hair growth.
Ingredients:
1-2 cups Mane 'n Tail conditioner
1-2 cups mineral or vitamin E oil (I find the latter works best)
1 tablespoon Tuttle's Elixer
I couldn't find any Tuttle's Elixer, in fact I don't even know what it is. I just subtracted this ingredient from the recipe and it worked just fine for me.
Mix the ingredients together, adding or subtracting depending on the condition of your horse's tail. Do not put it in a spray bottle, but run deeply and thoroughly into the dock of your horse's tail until it is absorbed. (Leaving a little unabsorbed is find.) After the rub in, add ALOT to the dock and wrap in a shopping bag or tail wrap, anything that will allow the tail to set without dripping for 15 minutes. After the stuff has been partially absorbed, rinse with warm water. |
