*Feel free to pick and choose one or many activities according to your needs and interests.

WEEK 12:
See week 11.
I am frustrated because I am giving you the chance to get better, and hardly anyone is responding! What am I saying, nobody is looking up this page.
I am on the verge of getting mad at all of you nice and wonderful students....See you this week.

WEEK 11:
Due to the lack of interest for this page, I will not write anymore suggestions for expansion. If you are interested, please see me in class, or write me an e-mail.
I'll gladly prepare something for you personnaly. Until next time, don't forget to do your homework, your activity of the week and your grammar package...

WEEK 10:
You might want to read in the SB p.79-82 and p. 88-90.
The first text is about intelligence and will prepare you for Mike's conference on learning disabilities. the second is a murder mystery you will enjoy I'm sure.
Here are great site you could look at and let me know how you like them:

http://www.pacificnet.net/-sperling/cooki.pl.cgi
It has quotes and proverbs.

http://www.starlingtech.com/quotes/

http://www.Test_Surveys_Polls/Quizzes_and_Tests/Interactive_Quizzes_and_Tests/IQ_Tests
A site with brainteasers and puzzles.

I also have a word quizz which is fun to do. Just ask and I'll e-mail it to you. I also have a little exam to test the vocabulary and the grammar in this unit to see if (notice the if...) you have mastered the grammar of the week. I can e-mail this to you also.

Have a good week.

WEEK 9
Will not be posted as you have a composition exam.

WEEK 8
Youppppppi...Spring break... Please rest, don't go out too late and slow down on the beer...
You know that your life style affects directly your school results. Think about this.
Good life habits make good students. Eat well, drink moderatly, do some kind of exercise or physical activity every day, and rest... This is a winning formula...

WEEK 7
As you know, this is "mid-term exam" week.
If you want to prepare, please do extra exercises in your WB concerning units 1-5.
Then you can read all texts not done in your SB units 1-5.
You can also have a look at all the listening questions for the listenings we have not done in class.
Finally you can complete your grammar package, as I am sure some parts are incomplete: add examples, more information, grammar rules...
Some students have bought a grammar book because they need to return to basics. There are a few different kinds at Coop. If you desire to buy one, let me know and I will guide you in your choice.

WEEK 6:
# In your WB, I think it would be good if you did 40A, 44C.
# In your SB, it would be good for you to do p.68 exercise B Grammar In Use, p.69 reading 2, and p.72 exercise B.
# I also have 2 reproductibles, one about inventors and inventions, and the other about creating hybrid animals.
Both are fun games to play.
# Here are a couple of sites related to this unit:
* http://home.wxs.nl/-cavdwaal/startrek/a-z/a-z.html
it contains everything about Star Trek, the show alot of you watch.
* http://www.acs.ucalgary.ca/-browder/cloning.html
it has extra information on the subject of cloning.
# I also have quizzes if you want to verify your vocabulary and grammar. Just ask and I'll give you a copy of each.

WEEK 5:
In your WB I suggest you do 32A at the right, and pages 34 and 35. There are great expressions in all these exercises.
Also in your SB, I suggest you take the test on p.58: How Good A Listener Are You?
You can also read the jokes on p.47.
You might want to read the text: Communicating Across Cultures, on pages 53-54-55. It is interesting and not long to read.
This is the type of reading we will have at exams.
Sites:
http://www.worldculture.com/
http://transcript.simplenet.com/gototongue.htm
I also have a reproductible game: Interpreting Body Language, which is fun to play at a Saturday night party with your friends.

I can give you the correction grid.

WEEK 3
1. Watch a show about the paranormal and write to me retelling me the episode. Tip: Take notes while watching, it makes it easier to retell.
2. Write a email to a friend retelling an account of an apparition or something paranormal you heard about. Tip: Keep a paper copy of your letter so you can show it to me or to Mike.
3. Read the horoscope in an English newspaper (at the centre d'aide en anglais, formerly the Drop-In Center) or on any newspaper site on the net.
4. Here are some interesting sites available concerning this topic:

Let me know what's going on in these sites.
5. In your WB please do as extra work 10B, 13B, 15C,18D.
