A Tropical Surprise!
One sunny day I was in the car on the way to gymnastics. We were almost there, when suddenly a large falcon swooped down in front of the car. Magically, everyone and everything around me froze. Then the falcon spoke, Where ever you wish to go I will take you there. My heart was beating like a drum! I was frightened and excited all at once.
I didnt know what to say
.then I shouted, Off to my tropical dream land! (Which meant Hawaii!) Then the falcon swooped down and grabbed me with his large feet. I thought the flight would be very long, but in the blink of an eye I was there! We landed on a beautiful sandy beach. I couldnt believe my eyes! I was back in Hawaii! I looked down and noticed that I was in the bathing suit that I had been asking my mom to get me! I was so excited, but still confused! I could smell the sweet scent of beautiful flowers around me and I heard a soft, relaxing Hawaiian tune off in the distance. I listened to the waves crashing on the beach below my feet. The soft sand was grinding between my toes and I knew I would miss this when I had to leave.
Then suddenly, the falcon said, It is time to go! I couldnt bare to leave, not just yet.
I begged, Just a little longer. The falcon didnt even have a thought of giving in, so I grabbed some souvenirs and climbed on his back. Suddenly I felt a soft tap on my shoulder. I slowly turned my head to see my mother. She was telling me to get up. I was very confused.
I opened my eyes from a tremendous tropical dream and I heard my mom screaming, Wake up Amy, you are going to be late!

My Day in New York City
It was a Saturday in mid-April and the sun was shining through my bedroom window when I woke up. I climbed out of bed and after an hour, I was on the way to my friend Kristys house. We hadnt made plans, but we always had fun together.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise and looked up. Soaring above me was a huge falcon. Feeling frightened I took a step back; I had never seen a bird that large before. It was soaring lower and coming closer to me. It stopped screeching, and I listened and heard him say, I can take you anywhere in the world you want to go. Just name the place and get on my back and well fly away to wherever you want.
I stared at the great bird, astounded. It landed on the sidewalk in front of me. The impatient falcon spoke suddenly, Well, where do you want to go? I dont have all day.
After climbing on his back, and saying New York City, the bird lurched forward. Holding on as tight as possible, I thought about where I was headed and felt nervous, excited, and scared all at once. The Big Apple had always astounded me. I loved the city: the empire state building, the Statue of Liberty, walking through the busy streets, even just watching the people walk by. It was so much different from the small suburb I grew up in.
The bird began its descent, soaring lower and lower with each passing second, until the statue of liberty came into view. The falcon swiftly landed on Ellis Island and I slid off his back and brushed the feathers off my shirt.
Enjoy your day, he said.
Wait! I called, How will I be able to find you when I want to go home?
Dont worry, Ill find you. he replied as he took flight.
I looked around and was staring into the base of the Statue of Liberty.
I saw a tour group getting off a ferry and quickly stepped in behind a man, hoping to blend in with the group. I took a tour of the famous statue, and then just climbed back on the boat with the rest of the group.
When the ferry docked, I got off the boat and stepped onto the streets of New York City. There were people everywhere I looked; I couldnt wait to walk around.
I strolled around the city for a few hours. With a few dollars I found in my pocket, I bought myself lunch at a cute café outside the twin towers. With the leftover money, I had just enough to get on a tour bus, which drove around the whole city. I had so much fun.
After the tour, I was walking through an alley to get to another street when the great falcon appeared. Are you ready to go home yet? the bird asked.
Reluctantly, I climbed on his back and in a flash I was back on the sidewalk, where it had all begun. I debated on going to Kristys, but decided itd be best if I just went back.
When I got home, My mom was waiting for me. Where have you been? she asked. I guess you and Kristy had a good time.
Yeah, I said, and Im going back tomorrow. The next day, I actually made it to Kristys house, and I never saw the falcon again.
