Eminem was born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17, 1972 in Kansas City, Michigan. He spent most of his childhood moving back and forth between Kansas City and Detriot. He attended Lincoln High School in Warren from 1986-89. He got the idea to be a rapper from his Uncle Ronnie who commited suicde in 1991. On December 25, 1995 his daughter Hailie Jade was born. At this time he was workng at a family restaurant,Gilberts Lodge, in St.Clair Shores (96-98). His first full-length debut comes out in 1996, Infinite. This album did not sell good at all so Kim (his girlfriend, now wife) leaves him and takes Hailie with her (He was not allowed to see Hailie). His next album, Slim Shady EP, comes out in 1998. Later that year Dr.Dre signs Eminem to Aftermath Records after hearing him rap in Los Angelos. The Slim Shady LP came out February 23, 1999 and hits #2 on billboard within weeks. According to soundscan, this album sold more than 2.6 million copies!
