| Once in a world of purity When happiness wasn't just a mood It was a way of life. Go ahead stretch your wings Soar to the stars Go beyond what can be seen by the eye And spread your wings and fly As you look down upon the earth Be careful what you look for You'll see the world is less than perfect. That those dreams you held so dear Now shattered and cracked All that's left is fear. Those once golden wings now colorless Feathers drop one by one You try to stay upon the wind Within the fantasy you wish was real But instead you fall Forced into reality The world you see is a snake pit Some fight Others try to make the best of it Huddling in groups. We all wonder if happiness ever returns Or does that all end when you've fallen? |
