Many American Eagles Alumni have gone on to succesful careers in collegiate baseball and professional baseball.
The most recent Eagles to be drafted are RYAN SEAWELL, OF from Stanford University, and MATT MITCHELL, RHP from Barstow, CA. Matt Mitchell played on the 2004 Eagles and was drafted in the 14th round of the 2007 MLB draft out of high school by the Kansas City Royals. Ryan Seawell graduated from college in 2007 where he played four years at Stanford. In 2007 Seawell played in the New York - Penn league with the Detroit Tigers.
JASON ARMSTRONG is another one the recent Eagles to play professionally. After a record setting collegiate career records at Trinity University in Texas, Armstrong was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays as a shortstop and pitcher in June 2004.
Eric Sheridan and Brian Capon from the 2003 Eagles were both drafted in June 2004, but opted to play another year of college ball at Saddleback College. Eric Sheridan was drafted again and signed professionally with the Houston Astros in 2005.
Another Eagle to play professionally is RICHIE BURGESS (Eagle 1999). Burgess, a right-handed pitcher from Redlands, CA, helped lead a talent-laden Eagles club to two tournament championships on the 1999 Australian tour. Richie is now in his sixth year of pro ball with the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS organization.
RYAN FILLINGIM of the 1999 Eagles was drafted out of high school by the PITTSBURGH PIRATES, and decided to play college baseball in Alabama first.
