The 2003 GOLD COAST FRIENDSHIP SERIES BASEBALL TOURNAMENT, sponsored by MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL INTERNATIONAL, Sports Promotions International and the USA/Australia Baseball Exchange, will be played at the Palm Meadows Baseball Complex, the home of the Major League Baseball International Australian Academy and the pre-Olympic training site for the 2000 USA Olympic Baseball Team. Located in the suburb of Surfer's Paradise, about 15 minutes from the white sand beaches where the American teams will stay at the Courtyard Marriott, Palm Meadows is considered one of the best baseball facilities in the state of Queensland, and the entire country.
The Australian players in the Gold Coast Tournament include some of the best under-19-year-old players in Australia, many of whom have competed internationally with the Australian Junior National Team. Several former Australian players from this tournament have gone on to play at the collegiate level and professionally in the USA.
