The annual BARRIER REEF BASEBALL TOURNAMENT is played at the Trinity Beach Sports Complex in the Cairns' suburb of Trinity Beach The baseball fields are about 20 kilometers north of Carins city center where the American Eagles stay at the Holiday Inn.
There are a total of 1 American team (the Eagles)and 3 Australian teams playing in a "round-robin" tournament format. After the 3-game round-robin play the first and second place teams play for the tournament Championship and the third and fourth place teams play for thrid place. A tie-breaker system to determine the final positions after round-robin play includes a runs-for and runs-against differential formula.
Each game in round-robin play is seven innings, or 2.5 hours.
