My Thoughts and Visions ! |
& Welcome to, Jim's "Show Must Go On".
I think Freddie said it all with those words. You must go on because that is the way the person that is no longer with us would have wanted it to be. Life is to SHORT and VALUABLE to not stop and smell the roses. I guess Billy Joel says it best when he wrote the words,"ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG". I guess in that case I will live forever! In Freddie's last interview he said, " I don't really think about when I'm dead or how they are going to remember me. I don't really think about it. It's up to them. When I'm dead, who cares? I don't."
Well Freddie , I will show you who cares about you and what you did for me and all those millions of QUEEN fans around the globe. Thanks Freddie!
This is the start of my site, its about a band called, "QUEEN". This is not going to be a dramatic stand for QUEEN themselves. It's just my thoughts about QUEEN thru my 20+ years of my life with them at my side. I will never forget them. Freddie So sit back, relax , and enjoy the ride.
I do hope you will like what you see on this page(s). This page is heavily. So wear your (hardhat NOT HOMER! ) and keep your head up because, you just never know what's going to happen around this page. This page gets daily for the most part and I would hate for you to MISS something!
Before I go into my thoughts about QUEEN. I would like to touch on a subject that I received some email on. This is an act that bothers me to no end. It makes me feel like an when I hear these things. It seems that these two young "boys" carved the words "HOMO" into this young mans back because he likes QUEEN. The letters were 4-5 inches tall. Why you ask? Well I will tell you, they think that QUEEN is a, "GAY BAND". All members are/were married to the opposite sex and Freddie was also for some time. To me that does not make Freddie and bad person and it does not make the band GAY. It also doesn't make that young man a BAD person and you shouldn't be condemned because you like his/her/their music or anything else for that matter. You should be able to go around and LIKE/DISLIKE what you want and not be BANNISHED/CONDEMNED for it. Let's ALL try and put a stop to ALL of these NEGATISMS/RACISMS on any subject. People have a right to like/dislike what they like/dislike and not get threatened in anyway for it! Let us all spread this word all around the world! This is a FREE country and you should not have to feel that you should hide your feelings inside of you because of your beliefs and thoughts. If you do not feel this way...GET OUT of this great FREE country of OURS! Hope that wasn't too strong for an OPENING? I hope you enjoy the rest of the page!
My life in music started at the ripe old age of 7. I came from school one day and noticed that there were some strange things that occurred that day while I was away. The whole PARLOR/LIVING ROOM (Depends on where you are from!) was all moved around. There was this (A ORGAN not PIANO!) with white and black things on it and also some wooden sticks(Foot Pedals) that came out the bottom and some kind of pedal(Volume Pedal!) that rocked like a see saw.Lets not forget ALL those push/pull bars all over the top.(Sounds Slide Bars.) I said, What is that? They said its an organ. I said noooo? Whats it doing here? They said you are going to play it. I said, I dont know how to play this silly looking thing. They said, "you can take some lessons." I said, "NOOO WAYYY!" Well I will tell you it was quite a few years that I did take lessons. (10+/- years) I am not sure how I got through the first teacher. Why you ask? Well I'll tell ya! She used one of those, wooden pointers,(like the ones in school.) and everytime I made a boo-boo she would manage to whack my knuckles good! "Never missed!" That old lady was good! Then a few years later I wanted to try out my talents in front of an audience. So I decided to do an in school music recital. I was supposed to play one song and I thought I asked the teacher to do two songs, well I thought my teacher said OK. I guess she didn't hear me or something, so I decided to play the two songs anyway with everyone in the place telling me to stop! Then the curtain started to open for the next act, and BOY was all in a bit of laughter then! I just kept on playing!
Anyway, thanks Dad and you also mom for making me get into this KEYBOARDING, something I thought I would not get into at all.
Now I play for my church in our Comtemporary Music Ministry! Stop by and see us sometime. We are not too bad! We could use a few more singers!
Now for what I have learned about QUEEN and some of my own thoughts..................
Of course this in in my own words from all different experiences and books and videos and all that I seen or heard through the years. Especially one of my FAVORITE CONCERTS that I went to. Hope you enjoy what you seen and read so far? Please feel free to write to me and tell me what you think about this page! I dont mind criticism IF its done the right way! ~> or
I would like for ANY and ALL QUEEN fans to let me know HOW they became QUEEN fans. Email me and let me know how, where, when and all the details you can! I will start another PAGE(S)so you can see all of these things! NO NAMES will be used, unless, instructed by the emailer!Thank You!
This is something I would like to do to see just how many fans and all that QUEEN has and what they plan to do to
keep QUEEN alive. I have purchased albums from Brian May and Roger Taylor and like them BUT it's just not QUEEN without Freddie.

As It Began |
It all started back in 1970 in New Brunswick,NJ. my parents took me to the, "Route 1 Flea Market", suprising to say there were no fleas to be had! I wandered alone into a shop and the first thing I see is an with an interesting cover on it. It was white and had a few animals, and a crab and others on it. I found out later that it was all the members ZODIAC SIGNS. The other was a black cover with these four guys,(Only their faces showing and one guy with his hands across his chess,)in black, and they looked like they where dead. So me being a person who goes for the DIFFERENT you might say, purchased these two albums and went home. The next day I proceeded to play them and then I played them over and over again because these guys where a great sounding band to me. I guess I really like these guys, the music, the words and especially that singer, what's his name, oh yeah, "Farookh Bulsara",I mean Freddie Mercury.Born 5th September 1946, in Zanziba. There was no other voice in rock like him. Sorry Elvis! He hit the highest highs and the lowest lows. Boy could he also play that keyboard! Sorry Elton and Billy. From that day on they were my IDOLS!
Then you have Brian May. Born 19th July 1947.In Hampton Hill Middlesex England. He was Queen's LEAD/RYTHYM/Vocals. His words about Freddie, "Freddies life definitely changed the world, and I think his death is already changing it too...." Brian's dad thought that Brian's Music interests were just a hobby. Boy was he ever wrong. Brain and his dad built a guitar for Brian which they called the "Red Special"
That guitar was still being used 30 years later.
Now lets not get carried away and lets get to Roger Meddows Taylor, the drummer for the band,born,26th,July 1949 in West Norfolk England.Roger started young as a soprano in a choir. He started with the guitar in 1963 before going on to the drums. I will come back to him later and now on to John Deacon the bassist for the band, born 19th,August,1951, in Leicester,England. |
Before there was QUEEN there was SMILE |
Queen didn't start that way! In fact Freddie and John were not in the band yet. Brian and Roger and Tim Staffell headed this band up. They played lots of gigs in their college that they became that college's band. Tim also designed SMILE's logo. Somewhat seemed to be what the STONES' logo is today. Without the tongue! In 1969, Tim brought Freddie Bulsara to a SMILE gig and he never left.
Well I guess my first great memory of QUEEN was going to see them at Madison Square Garden in NYC. A friend knew a SCALPER and from whom we bought tickets from. Can you believe we paid only $30 for 10th row, just off to the side of middle seats.
It was funny though, I used to watch the ODD COUPLE and all of a sudden I looked over beside us and saw this guy with a camera and I swore it looked like Felix. Anyway, as the concert began there was a big black Crown covering the stage and all you then heard was the organ in one of Queen's songs and it rose. Well that was a GREAT concert. Freddie is/was the best there was and I could safely say the best there ever will be. Brian and the boys aren't to shabby either. So needless to say I went to ALOT of concerts when they came to town.
The one that sticks out the most is the, LIVE KILLERS TOUR!
It was a great concert and the best is when I purcahsed the CD. There is a song called, "Brighton Rock". At the concert I remember there was a little break and Brian was doing a little solo type music and then he struck a cord and then it got quiet. I thought he would go on longer with the guitar and I yelled, "Go Brain". So loud that everyone heard me. When I listened to the CD I heard that same yell. I knew it was me and I found out it was taped at MSG. So I am on a QUEEN CD! Im famous!Oh yeah Freddie through a TAMBORINE right over my head and I almost took down the whole row to try and get it! I am also proud of my collection of QUEEN items. I have two autographed albums. one is in marker and the other is etched. ****************************************************************************************************************************************************Well its been a long time since I have been here and I must say that I am sorry not to keep this up anymore. My life has had its ups and downs in the last while since I have been here and I hope you all did enjoy what I did till now! I don't think to do more here on this page anymore! I want you all to know I miss Freddie and the boys alot and will never forget what they did. Buit I guess it is like what we should do with Elvis, he is dead now and let us let him RIP and never forget what good he did as well as Freddie. To the people who have come here and read my site, I do hope you enjoyed what I did, GOD BLESS you all! Maybe someday I will come back with more good stuff here! Thanks MAXPAGES for letting me create this page for Freddie and me!
