| The Ghost at St. Mark's |

| One type of phenomena that has come to my attention that there aren't many cases of it. It is the haunted church. The thing is not too many people think that a church can be haunted. Well, I have one of the best stories of a haunted church. One of the best cases of a hauntd church is St. Marks downtown New York on the corner of second Ave. and Tenth street. The church was built in 1799 on the site of an ealier chapel. The governor was buried in a crypt under the church witch can be seen. The last member of that family died in 1953,and the crypt was sealed. There are two or possibly three ghosts that haunt the church. One is a woman who appears in the of the nave in the center aisle. Another ghost on ocassion shows up in the balcony by the magnificent organ. The ghostly women also has appeared near the back entrance. The final ghost makes walking sounds and seems like it is carrying a cane. The mayor buried there had a wooden leg and walked with a cane. So it just might be the mayor.
