THEME
· Commerce and Distribution in the Netherlands
· MBA-173 students may earn credit for BSA 545, International Business (see attached syllabus). The cost of tuition is not included in the Study Tour.

DATES
· 16 February 2001 through 25 February 2001

COST
· $US1309, per person, double-occupancy (add $US160 for single occupancy).
· Includes airfare from Dulles to Amsterdam, all ground transportation in Europe, lodging in 3-star hotels, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), all program elements, translation and accompaniment by a professional tourleader, and travel insurance (flight cancellation, missed flight, medical expense, medical evacuation, lost baggage, baggage delay, and accidental dismemberment/death).
· A typical Dutch breakfast consists of sandwiches with cheese, ham, chocolate, or jam, drinks are milk, tea or coffee. In a three star hotel there will be eggs, cereals, and fruit as well. A packed lunch contains sandwiches, for lunch in Holland is practically the same as breakfast. A Dutch dinner consists of a starter (often soup), a main course (meat, vegetables, potatoes), and a dessert.
· A non-refundable deposit of $US400 will be required by 10/16/2000, with the balance due on 12/18/00. The deposit is payable to Holiday Travel Service (contact Gary Beyer, Vice-President at 804-799-0230).

* Depart from Dulles, 6:10 pm (Northwest Flight 36, non-stop)

2/17
* Arrive at the airport of Schiphol, 7:45 am
* Enjoy a leisurely day of adjustment
* Dinner, with a general introduction on the Netherlands and on the programme.
* Overnight stay in Amsterdam.

2/18
* Visit to the van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam
* Guided tour through Amsterdam
* Time for shopping
* Round trip by boat through the canals and harbour of Amsterdam
* Overnight stay in Amsterdam.

2/19
* Departure to Brussels
* Visit to the European Union in Brussels
* Dinner in one of Brussels’ restaurants.
* Overnight stay in Brussels.

2/20
* Departure to Holland
* Visit to the International Court of Justice in the Hague
* Visit to the Amsterdam Stock Exchange
* Overnight stay in Amsterdam

2/21
* Meeting with an import/export company near Rotterdam
* Lecture at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam
* Guided excursion in the port of Rotterdam, the largest port in the world
* Visit to the Centre for Inland Shipping
* Overnight stay in Amsterdam

2/22
* Visit to the Heineken brewery
* Visit to the New Land Exhibition Centre in Lelystad: history of reclamation of land and the construction of polders – film, slides and scale models
* Visit to one of Holland’s typical windmills
* Overnight stay in Amsterdam

2/23
* Visit to the world’s biggest flower auction at Aalsmeer
* Visit to the company DAF Trucks in Eindhoven.
* Visit to the museum of DAF Trucks
* Overnight stay in Eindhoven

2/24
* Visit to Kinderdijk, ancient polder with 19 mills
* Visit to the city of Delft, known for its chinaware
* Overnight stay in Amsterdam

2/25
* Depart from the airport at Schiphol, 11:35 am (Northwest Flight 25, non-stop)
Arrive at Dulles, 2:25 pm
