In the Last epside of dragonball Z, Gokou, Vegeta,.... with assistance from Mr. Satan (aka Hercule), defeated Boo in his small and more powerfull form with a Spirit Bomb from Gokou. But before it hit Boo, he made a small wish that Boo would be reincarnated so he could fight him again since this was one of gokou's ultimate fights. Years later, Everyone goes to a tornament, including Pan, the daughter of Gohan and Videl (she has a name in the edited version I believe, but I don't know what it is). There, Gokou asked Majin Boo (Not the one that was destroyed) to make it so a little black kid could fight Gokou. When the time came, Gokou tested the kid to see if he indeed was Boo reincarnated. After the test, the kid told Gokou his name was Oob...(that would be Boo backwards). There Gokou decided to go train the kid and he told his family that he would come back in 10 years after they finished.
