 Rebel Assault Released: 1993 Systems: Sega CD, 3DO The Basics Box cover. Rebel Assault follows the basic plot of Episode IV and features many of the same events and locations. The main difference is that a character named Rookie One replaces Luke Skywalker as the hero of the story. The game takes advantage of the CD storage media for realistic video, graphics, and sound that seem like they are straight out of the movie. The Details Rookie One. The game contains 15 levels of gameplay with inside-the-cockpit space battles and third-person shooting levels intercut with cinema cutscenes. Level 1: Fighter Training Level 2: Asteroid Field Training Level 3: Planet Kolaador Level 4: Star Destroyer Attack Level 5: Tatooine Attack Flying through canyons. Level 6: Asteroid Field Chase Level 7: Imperial Probe Droids Level 8: Imperial Walkers Level 9: Stormtroopers Level 10: Protect Rebel Transport Level 11: Yavin Training Level 12: Tie Attack Level 13: Death Star Surface Level 14: Surface Cannon Battling TIE fighters. Level 15: Death Star Trench The Verdict I was unable to obtain a copy of Rebel Assault for critique, but the style of the game is very similar to its sequel, Rebel Assault II. |
