The Basics
Imperial officer, dead ahead.
Dark Forces is a Doom-style first-person shooter featuring the adventures of Kyle Katarn, a freelance operative working for the Rebel Alliance. His mission? Infiltrate an imperial base and obtain the top-secret plans for the Death Star. But once that mission is complete, Katarn and the rebels stumble upon a new imperial weapon that may mean the end for the alliance: the dark trooper.
The Details
Head for the door.

The main adversaries you'll face are stormtroopers, imperial officers, and imperial commandos. Lucky for you, the following weapons can be found throughout the game: modified Bryar pistol, stormtrooper laser rifle, thermal detonator, imperial repeater gun, Jeron fusion cutter, IM mines, packered mortar gun, and Stouker concussion rifle.

The Verdict
If you still enjoy playing Doom, you'll probably like Dark Forces as well. It was released in the early days of the PlayStation, and it shows. You'd think the Star Wars atmosphere would help to make up for the murky, pixelated graphics and choppy scaling, but it doesn't. In a few years, Dark Forces may be looked upon as a classic, but right now, it just seems dated.
