The Yosef connection:

We have in our family tree Yosef Moshe Saltiel, born 1820, who was also known as "Han Behor" (noble firstborn). This means that he would have been named Yosef after his grandfather, because of the tradition of naming the firstborn son after the paternal grandfather. With the estimated date of birth ca. 1765, grandfather Yosef Saltiel would be the most ancient member of the Salonikan Saltiel whose lineage has been fully discovered:

Yosef Saltiel, born ca. 1877, married to ???, father of ??? (brother of Abraham, Moshe and Rachel, who came to Israel in 1932)

We have information about a lot of Yosef Saltiels, but relatively little information on the names of their wives and the names of their children. I do not consider it likely that any of the late 19th century Yosef Saltiels are identical, except for Yosef Saltiel born 1877 who came to Israel in 1932. He might be identical with another Yosef Saltiel listed here.
