Esther Saltiel McKeeman esandsam@mckeeman.net My name is Mark Abolofia, married to Francine Hodes. We have two children, Reina, age 16 and Jay age 13. I am currently the President of the only Sephardic synagogue in the state of Oregon, USA. Congregation Ahavath Achim, Portland, Oregon which was established in 1916. I enjoy learning about Jewish history, in particular Sephardic culture and tradition. My Great-Greatgrandmother was Zimbul Saltiel, from Tekirdag, Turkey. My Grandmother Fortuna Calvo told me many years ago that her Noni Zimbul was married at the tender age of 12 to Jacov Levy, who used to help his two brothers in law in their wine business in Tekirdag. I was pleased to find your wonderful Shealtiel family page and was put in touch with Moshe Shaltiel in Illinois who assisted me in putting together my family tree. I am an assistant professor of educational adminstration at Troy State University in Phenix city, Alabama. I have just had my first book published by Jossey Bass. I am a member of the Henriques Pimentel family, originally from Holland, and David Henriques Pimentel who married Hanna Sealtiel was a distant relative.
