The Dona Deli Group is a private discussion group, and operates independant from the Shealtiel Family Network.
The aims of this group is:
- Researching the history of the Shealtiel family
- Conduct such research on a (semi)scholarly level
- Discuss our discoveries within the Dona Deli group
- Inform the Shealtiel family (and the rest of the world) about our discoveries, theories and conclusions.
The conditions for membership of this group are:
A - Members agree to share all the information which they discover, as well as their theories and conclusions, with the other members of the group.
B - Members are not allowed to make personal attacks on other members of this group (or outsiders) if they have a different opinion or a different method of research.
C - All members should be prepared to give detailed and exact references about their sources of information.
D - No member of the group will talk about or give to any non-member any information or theories which he/she receives through members of the Dona Deli group or through the Dona Deli newsletter, and which are marked with CON or MEM in the subject line.
E - The decision of a new member joining the group depends on the acceptance by the other members of the group.
F - New members are requested to inform the other members of the Dona Deli group about their motivation to participate in this group, the (kind of) researches they want to do, and their hobbies and interests.
G - omitted
H - If you do not wish to expose your real idendity to the group, you may choose a pseudonym which the group will use in future. You must tell about your real idendity to Dona Deli herself, but she will keep it secret.
I - No member of the group is allowed to publish (parts of) the researches of other group members, without stating the source and giving timely advice to the person concerned.
J - Any member of the group who does not follow these conditions will be excluded from The Dona Deli Group.
HOW DOES THE DONA DELI GROUP OPERATE?
I suggest that we approach professional scholars to comment on our discoveries and give us suggestions and new ideas where to look for information. I have contacts with two excellent scholars on Sephardic history myself and wonder if you can bring us in contact with others!?
Dona Deli sends new information and theories to all the members of the group through email or through a newsletter. Every member of the group (and the scholars) are allowed to comment on the information and theories. The person who sent in the information then reacts on their comments in the Dona Deli newsletter, and decides whether his/her information and theories are ready for presentation to the world. Of course the person who discovered the information will have the right of being the first to publish it (in the Dona Deli newsletter or elsewhere).
If you send a message to Dona Deli, please add one of the following codes to the subject line:
CON - confidential message for Dona Deli only
MEM - message intended for Dona Deli group members only
PUB - message intended for publication in newsletter or elsewhere.
I very much look forward to hear from you!
