| The BRIARD is one of Europes oldest breeds and while much of other breed's origins are surrounded with much romantic folklore, the BRIARDS history like many other herding breeds have never been told... |
| It is known that the breeds country of origin is France, so with other words the BRIARD is a French Herding Dog. And there are legends about the BRIARD wich are going way back in time, all the way back to the 7th century. The first official description of the BRIARD was drawn up 1897 by LE CLUB FRANCAISE DU CHIEN DE BERGER. The first BRIARD registered in Canada was an american owned dog and the year was 1949. |
