PROGRAM BOOK PHOTOS:
Every contestant must submit a wallet size color or b/w photo for the program book. Photos will not be returned. Label with name and division on back. Photos must be in by July 12. Late photos will not be included in program book.
AD SALES:
Contestants may sale ad pages for the program book. Ads may be a whole page, half page or a quarter page. This is a great way to earn your fees paid to state. The contestant selling the most ad pages will receive our cover girl title and a cash prize.
For each whole or half page sales contestants may include a photo of themselves. Photos must be no larger than a 3x5. Business cards may also be used. Attach photos and card to pages before mailing. Use blank copy paper to layout your ads. Ads must be copy ready.
Whole page - $50.00
Half page - $25.00
1/4 page - $15.00
Include payment when mailing ad pages. Ad sales must be in by July. 12. Contestant selling 6 or more pages will earn all fees paid to state.
Please make sure contestant's name is on each ad.
Chaperone Meal Tickets:
All chaperones are required to have a meal ticket for the parties. Contestant meal ticket is included in package. Additional meal tickets may also be purchased for family and friends.

A PHOTOGRAPHER WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR VIDEOS AND PHOTOS AT THE PAGEANT. NO VIDEO CAMERAS OR CAMERAS ALLOWED AT THE PAGEANT. CAMERAS PERMITTED AT THE PARTIES AND REHEARSALS.

People's Choice Queen:
This year we are offering our contestants a chance to collect votes for themselves or another contestant. Contestants may gather votes from family, friends or businesses. Each vote is $1.00. Contestant receiving the most votes will be crowned our 1999 Dixie Dazzle People's Choice Queen and will receive a crown, trophy, banner, cash and the same appearance schedule as our state queens. This is a great way to get people involved in our community service project. The proceeds will go to Project Pencil Box.
All votes and money must be turned in at registration. Voting may also be done before the start of the pageant.
Use blank copy paper to write down the names of those voting and how many votes they contributed.
Competition Clothing Requirements:
Opening Number: Dixie Dazzle T-shirt, white shorts, white sneakers.
Beauty: Short formal for Division 1. Tux or suits for boys. Long or short formal for Division 2.
Casualwear: Red, white and blue patriotic attire. No belly or halter tops or short shorts. No pro-am modeling or garment removal on stage.
Queen's Luncheon: Sunday dress. No pants for girls. Suit for boys.
50's Party: 50's wear. May be poodle skirts, jeans, etc.
Celebration Party: Summer outfit of choice. No belly or halter tops or short shorts.
Rehearsals: Comfortable clothing. Must be neat. No belly or halter tops or short shorts.
We donot judge on the expense of the clothing but on the fit and neatness. We judge age appropriateness very strict. We believe a child should look like a child and a teen like a teen. Judges will be instructed to follow age appropriate guidelines very closely.
Chaperones must be neat at all times.
Awards:
Majestic: (must enter all mandatory and optionals except talent) Cash, large trophy, full round crown, satin embroidered banner, gift and photos on next year's advertising. One majestic winner for Division 1 and one majestic winner for Division 2.
Division Winners: (combined scores of Beauty and Casualwear)
Cash, large trophy, satin embroidered banner, round crown, gift and photo on next year's advertising.
Photogenic Winners: (5x7 or 8x10 color or b/w. No frames. Submit at registration) One winner for each age division. Trophy and cash prize.
Talent Winners: (3 minutes or less. Submit cued and labeled tapes at registration). Cash and trophy. One winner for each division. One overall winner for Division 2 will win cash and large trophy.
Academic Achievement: One winner for Division 2. Must submit proof of GPA at registration. Cash award-$100.00 and trophy.
Eight Overall Optional Winners: 4 for each division. Trophy and cash. Division optionals also.

CONTESTANTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS. The Ramada Inn in Fayetteville, NC will be the site of our pageant this year. Room rates for contestants is $49.05 a night. Call early for Reservations.
