Good Afternoon, class. I am Proffesor Crystal, your new Muggle Studies teacher. Before we get started I would like to say that I have spent many years stuyding the muggle world. Many think their world is quite boring and the subject of muggles the same. But I learned some pretty interesting things.
For starters I will explain the differences between muggles and wizards. The most obvious difference is that muggles have no magic, whatsoever. None, like us wizards have. Their "magic" (if you would call it that) is purely mechanical. Take the instrument called the telephone. This machine allows muggles to talk to one another without actually seeing the other person! You talk into one part of the telephone and the person on the other end can hear what you say and answer you back! Another difference is that they don't have house elves to help keep their houses. They do it all themselves. They cook their own food and see to the dusting all by themselves. It takes them much longer to clean and cook because they don't like it.
Muggles also don't have owls to transport their mail. They put it into a little box and leave it there. A man, or woman, comes around once a day in a little van and takes what the muggle put into the box. In exchange for their taking what was in the box, the man in the van, stuffs the box full of papers and leaves. The muggle from the house then goes out to the box and takes out the papers. Most of the time, the muggle grumbles about things called bills and how the mail system is bad because nothing comes on time. As you can see, owls are much more reliable.
That is all for today, class. I ask you now that you please complete the five questions I have for your homework.
Extra Credit: (worth 5 house points and 7 galleons) Tell about another difference between muggles and wizards. You CANNOT use the differences discussed in class.
