Late one evening Nick walks into a bar to have a drink, a girl walks beside him and goes to sit down with her boyfriend who was watching a football game. She asks him on how much he bet on the game. He just told her to shut up as Nick looks across and sees him. Nick doesn't like him much. He loses the football game and lost his bet. Wendy, the girl tells him to take an easy. But Jerry, her boyfriend, tells her just to shut up and be quiet. He goes over to another table to talk to a man named Hank, who he made the bet with. He asks for one more chance when he notices the Nick is next to his girlfriend. He gets up and walks over to the bar table, he gets in between Wendy and Nick. He wanted to know what was going on; when Wendy tried to explain what was going on he told her to shut up. Nick told him to calm down and everything was fine, he just asked for peanuts. But Jerry tried to throw a punch at Nick and Nick pounded his face in. He gets back up and asks Wendy for the keys. They leave.
Jerry and Wendy are crew zing down the road as Jerry starts to talk about how he is not going to have enough money for them to stay at a hotel that night, so they would have to go to his cabin. Wendy complains saying that they would have enough money if he didn't bet it all on a stupid football game. Jerry gets mad and slaps her; she gets out of the car and runs. Jerry tells her to get back into the car, but she was running down the road so he put the car in reverse and started to chase after her, with the car. He speeds up some, and then he feels a thump. He stops the car to look outside. Wendy is laying there on the ground, dead. Jerry starts to freak and yells at her, "Why couldn't you stay in the car!" He thought for a second, and then he put Wendy in the front seat of the car. Puts the car in neutral and pushes it off the side of the cliff.

Later on, Nick goes for a drive. He sees a detour sign and he takes the back road. Well this time he decides to drag race. He puts his watch, with the timer set on his front door window. Cranks up his engine and turns off his headlights. Then he floors it. Making sharp turns and going as fast as he could; he finally makes his time and turns on his headlights. He sees a woman in the middle of the road, and veers off the side. He gets out of the car to see if she is okay. He notices her from the bar, about a month ago. He asks if her name is Wendy. She starts to walk away; Nick confused asks if she is okay. If she needs anything, or a ride; she says yes. She would like a ride. Nick starts to drive but she says this time keep the headlights on. When they reach their destination, which is a trailer park. She gets out of the car and disappears. He gets out and starts to look for her. He bangs on one of the trailer doors to ask if Wendy was here, that he just dropped her off a few minutes ago. The man yells at him and says that Wendy is dead, that his daughter died a month ago and to get out of here.
At the house, Derek is researching when he tells Rachel to get a book for him. She goes to reach it and her earring falls out. Derek asks if everything is all right, and she says everything's fine. She picks up a letter opener and puts it through the crack in the bottom of the bookshelf. Then suddenly it opens. A secret doorway, it must have been built when the house was constructed.
They open it and find a statue of Jesus, with his arms clutched holding a book. Derek takes the book and looks at it.
In the control room, Nick and Alex are talking about how Rachel and Derek found the statue. Derek walks in; he came to see Nick about his encounter with the girl, Wendy.
Derek listens to Nick and asks if she would like to help her, he said yes so now Nick sets out to find the girl and help her any he can.
Later on that night, Wendy got another ride from another man. He was young, just a teenager. She gets out of the car but the boy goes after her and asks if she needs anything else. He touches her, and then she yells at him. Tells him you shouldn't have touched me.
Suddenly a gust of wind comes over, the boy gets scared and starts to run off. Next thing, you see him handing from a telephone poll with a pipe stuck in his chest.

In the morning, Nick and Alex travel over to Wendy's apartment where they meet her roommate. They ask her some questions, but she didn't know much.
Back at the house, Alex and Nick are going through some stuff that Wendy's roommate gave them. Alex notices that one of her tapes, has tape over the recording tab.
So they pop it in and see a message from her boyfriend talking about how they are going to Los Vegas.
Nick asks Alex to further examine the tape.
Nick tells Alex about the accident. The investigation was short, Alex thinks its murder and now Nick is out to find justice for her.
Later in the afternoon, Nick goes back the road where he picked her up to find her. He drives all day to find her. He pulls over the car and shouts her name. He tells her that he will take her anywhere. Then she appears. They start to talk, but when Nick touches her, the wind comes back suddenly Nick starts getting hit. He falls down the side of the road. There he sees her, she warns him never to come back. She screams and melts into a bloody fire.
The next day, Nick is talking to Alex at the house. They link up three murders that they have found, all male, all murdered outside there car. Alex notices a pattern. Nick asks about the boyfriend. His name is Jerry Tate. Worked on VCR's, and electronics.
He disappeared about a month ago.
Nick says we need to find him, at the bar where he met him about two months ago. He starts to leave when he runs into Derek. Derek questions his actions but Nick says he is fine. Derek tells Alex to go with him.
They go to the bar, and meet a man named Hank. He's a bookie from out of town who usually deals with some people there and he won't give Nick and Alex the information unless they make a bet. So they do, Nick bet a hundred. They flipped a coin and Nick won (heads). Hank tells them about a cabin that Jerry inherited, usually where he held up.
Alex and Nick head over to his cabin.
They head into his cabin, they start to smell something really rotten and then they see. Jerry sitting they're in the chair with half his head blown off.

Early the next morning, Rachel comes in and finds Derek still looking at the book.
It came from the Belgium House. It was a house that turned to the dark side. He said that the Precept, Salvador Reneao. The Precept was so obsessed with defeating evil that he became evil and so he turned. Being crucified by his house members (followers). To prove that he was the coming of the anti-Christ.
Back in the control room, Nick pops in the tape for everyone to see. He played it, it showed how Jerry felt sorry for his girlfriend and promised her the best. Then he shot himself. The come to the conclusion to find her and convince her to break the cycle of abuse, to not let her dead boyfriend control her. Then Nick sets out to find her.
Late in the evening Nick drives down the road with Alex to find her. But she does not appear. They have no luck and decide to go home. But under the road is a tunnel where Wendy is sitting on a rock as her boyfriend, Jerry, appears in front of her. He begs him not to do anything anymore, she tells him that she is his forever and to leave Nick out of it. But he does not listen.
Back at the house, Nick walks through the door and thanks Alex for coming. He goes upstairs to his room and looks at Wendy's pictures. Then Jerry appears behind him, they struggle and Jerry grabs Nick by the throat and pins him to the wall. Nick takes a barbell and hits him, but it does not faze Jerry. Then finally Nick passes out.
Nick wakes up, then Wendy comes in his room. Jerry is still there, Wendy tells Jerry to stop but Jerry gets angry and kicks Nick again. He calls Nick her boyfriend, he accuses Nick of wanting her. But Wendy denies everything and says that she doesn't like him. That he means nothing to her. Yet, Nick admits that he likes her. He tries to defend her but Jerry throws him across the room. Wendy goes to help Nick, she tells him not to do this anymore. But Nick will not stop; he asked Jerry what would it take to leave her alone. Nick places a bet.
Jerry cannot resist since he is a gambler man. He can't help it. They place the bet on a game of Russian Rue let.
Wendy tells Jerry to stop but he pushes her away from him.
Jerry goes first. He pulls the trigger. Then hands it to Nick; Nick tries to tell Wendy that she can change this that she doesn't have to go through this abuse anymore. He pulls the trigger.
He hands it back to Jerry, and Jerry pulls the trigger. Four to one odds.
Jerry pulls the trigger, and then hands it back to Nick.
Nick tells Wendy that she can stop this, and he pulls the trigger. It doesn't fire. Now its 50, 50 to the high roller.
Jerry closes his eyes and pulls the trigger. It doesn't fire. Now Nick is the one left with the bullet.
Wendy yells no, and pushes Nick back. She pushes Jerry in the corner, and uses the power of her soul to send Jerry back to hell.
Wendy thanked Nick but he did not except. He said that she did it. Then a bright light came from above as Wendy slowly was lifted into it.
Next morning, Nick is discussing what had happened the night before. Rachel asks if he was out if his mind playing Russian Rue let with a ghost.
He shows Alex and Rachel a trick with the gun. His spanned the gun and handed it to Alex, she looks at it and notices the bullet was never there.
"What am I crazy?" Nick said to them.
Alex was curious to know if she hadn't stood up for herself what would he had done next.
"Come up with a plan B in short order," said Nick.
Then Derek came from upstairs.
"Madness, absolute madness," he yelled.
"The statue truly is an abomination," said Derek.
He goes up the bookshelf, pulls it back, and pulls the statue out as it smashes on the floor.
When it hit the floor and broke the noticed a skeleton inside of it, it was Salvador Reneao.
Rachel asks who and why someone would put the statue here.
"I don't know who, but whoever did. Did it as a warning, do not forget the mistakes of the past or else you will be cursed to do them," said Derek. |
