Arthur Gellar, Sarah's father, was found dead in East Side
Manhattan apartment on Tuesday morning. Arthur Gellar, 60,
was found in his bed and there were no signs of trauma,
according to authorities. The medical examiner's office was
scheduled to do an autopsy on Thursday.
Father and daughter were estranged, Sarah has said in
interviews. Her mother, Rosellen, 51, a former New York City
nursery school teacher, was divorced from Sarah's father when

In 1996, Sarah auditioned and was picked as the lead of a new series called Buffy the
Vampire Slayer. The show is loosely based on the movie by the same name, and both were
created Joss Whedon. She originally was cast a Cordelia, but kept auditioning 'til she got the lead role of "Buffy Summers". In an interview Joss Whedon had said, "If we hadn't found Sarah the series might not have happened." Warner Brothers bought 13 episodes of the
show, and although it only ranked 100th out of 107 programs in the Nielson ratings after the first season, the ratings of the pilot were the highest ever of any of the WB lineup. Warner Brothers renewed the show for another 22 episodes. The show has just finished its third season and the fourth is set to begin in early September. Sarah finished shooting her first really big film in June of 1997 called, I Know What You Did Last Summer, also staring Jennifer Love Hewitt. It is about teens that try to cover-up a hit and run. It was released 17 October, and shot to the top at number one in the same weekend it was released. Earning a profit in only two days. Just after finishing her first big film she moved on to film her second, Scream 2: Scream Again, which was filmed in Atlanta. isn't just someone, she has made WB history. She is the only WB Television Star to host
Saturday Night Live. She was also crowned the most beautiful woman by Mr. Showbiz. On 10

Horror category for her role in I Know What You Did Last Summer. Sarah is a star who
