Cell
Cell is another android created by Dr. Gero. Cell is comprised of cells from the greatest fighters in the world, including: Goku, Vegeta, Tien, Piccolo, Krillin, Frieza, and probably a lot of others. Cell has a few different stages, and needs to absorb androids 17 and 18 to become 'Perfect Cell'. When he does, no one seems to be able to touch him. He organizes the Cell Games, a tournament to see if anyone can beat him. Goku goes first, after Mr. Satan and his fruity students fail miserably in less than a minute. After Goku goes at it for a while, he realizes he is no match, and sends out Gohan. Cell then unleashes the Cell Jr.s to try and get Gohan mad, in order to unleash his incredible power. After Cell crushes 16's head(there we go again with the head thing...), Gohan goes SSJ2. He hurts Cell so bad, he coughs up 18, making him non-perfect. In a last ditch attempt, Cell tries to self-destruct. Goku grabs on to Cell(like 16 did) and flies up to King Kai's planet, where Cell self destructs. Goku, King Kai, Bubbles, and Gregory(the grasshopper guy) are destroyed, along with the planet. In 'heaven', the two realize they have not seen Cell, meaning he is still alive. Cell is indeed alive, and regrows. He then powers up with a Kame-hame-ha, and Gohan powers up a one-handed Kame-hame-ha(Cell blew up the other one or something). Gohan blasts it, killing Cell for good, but only with Goku's spiritual help.
Frieza
Frieza is the powerful Changeling that went to Namek in search of the 7 Dragon Balls, so he could become immortal. While at Namek, the Z Warriors meet up with him, and many do battle(and many lose!). Finally, when it appears no one can defeat him, Goku goes up against him(again), now a Super Saiyan(Saiya-jin). Goku has the upper hand the whole battle, until Frieza(Furiza) shoots a beam into Namek, causing it to explode in 2(or was it 5?) minutes. Goku kills Frieza(Furiza before Namek explodes. Frieza(Furiza) comes back as half android, but Trunks kills him with ease.
Gohan
Gohan is the first son of Goku and Chi-Chi. All through his life, Gohan has showed signs of extreme power when he or his loved ones are in danger. This is shown greatly during the Cell Games, when Gohan, pushed too far by Cell, goes SS2(SSJ2) and crushes Cell with his one handed Kame-hame-ha, with Goku's spiritual help, of course.
Goku 
Goku is the main hero in DBZ, so there is A LOT to cover! AHHHH!!! Well, for starters, Goku is a Saiyan(Saiya-jin). He was the first to go SS(that we know of, besides Brolly), during the last fight between him and Frieza(Furiza). Goku is married to Chi-Chi, and has two sons: Gohan and Goten. Goten is the younger one, and looks more like Goku than Gohan. Goku was sent to earth to rid it of life. However, Goku has an injury to his head, and turns good.
Krilling
Krillin is Goku's best friend. Krillin causes Goku to go Super Saiyan, when Frieza kills him. Krillin is the strongest of the Earthlings. Krilling has been killed the most, but still is stronger than most people. He has bald, but later grows his hair out.
He marries Android 18.
Piccolo
Piccolo is a Namek warrior. Now, pay close attention to what I say next. Kami-sama had to be free of all evil if he were to become earth's next "god". So after a long process, he finally split, making the evil side of him leave. The evil side was a demon. His name was Piccolo-Daimao. Now, since Piccolo-Daimao and Kami-Sama used to be one, if either die, so does the other one. Now, Piccolo-Daimao was Goku's main adversarie. So, when Goku finaly beat him, Piccolo-Daimao coughed up an egg of himself...Kinda weird. Well, it wasn't exactly himself, it was the Piccolo we know now...kinda. Piccolo was still evil, but not as much, allowing Gohan to turn him around a bit.
Trunks
Trunks is the son of vegita and Bulma. Trunks comes from the future to warn the Z Fighters of the androids, giving the planet hope. Trunks is a SS at the age of 8, and easily defeats Frieza and King Cold when they come to earth to seek revenge on Goku. Once everything is taken care of, Trunks returns to his present time, where he finishes off the androids before Cell can become perfect, and destroys Cell too.
Vegeta
Vegeta is the father of Trunks and Bra, and one of the few Saiyans left after their planet's destruction. Vegeta came to earth with Nappa in search of the Dragon Balls. Vegita was at first evil, but eventually is half good, half evil. Vegeta constantly wishes to obtain the power that Goku has in SS form, but can't seem to get it, until he eventually unleashes the power for his survival. Vegeta causes trouble on and off, allowing some enemies to power up fully, in order to test his own strength.
