BAND'S BRIEF SUMMARY

Our music style has been influenced by a wide variety of bands, including (but not limited to)... Ataris, Face To Face, Goldfinger, Green Day, MxPx, Rancid, Schleprock, Social D., Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, and many, many others.

IN SIGHT OF JUNE has been a band through the break up of brothers to the birth of new friendships. Originating back in February of 1995, two brothers (Eric and Todd) and a best friend headed out in an attempt to change what everyday thinking and what radio classifications were all about. With the departure of a friend, and the joining of two new musicians (Terry and Matt), they have had there goals set high and their hopes aimed for the masses. Heartache and pain makes this power driven quartet an explosive, in your face, hungry for emotion band that can make any break up, or make up, situation seem just like yesterday's memory of rainy days or the sting of that sleepless, cold winter night.

Let's Start At The Beginning

This is where it all begins...

In 1995, the band was formed in the early Spring. The original band consisted of Eric, Todd, and Gary. We were a three piece punk band until we decided it was neccessary to add more into our music by adding a bass player - AJ. We practiced several times, but AJ wasn't really "into it". He quit and we added Dustin to fill his place. After Dustin entered the scene, we thought things would work out well, so we needed to choose a name... and after many choices were thrown away, the one remaining was DAY 163.

By 1999, we had played some shows and began to sound good together. During this time (1999) we recorded our first demo CD, entitled "Untitled", but the music preferences of the members began to tear the band apart. Dustin became unhappy with playing punk, and wanted to do something else, so without a warning, he quit. DAY 163 continued without him... and eventually replaced him with Terry.

Trouble hit the band again though when Gary decided to throw in the towel and persue another band - - - hardkore style, called Attack The Outside World. We searched for a drummer high and low, found some, but weren't very impressed... until we found Matt. So, today, this is where the band's line up stands... and we're still playing the music we love... a mixture of punk, rock, and emo... whether you like it or not!

In 2001, Day 163 was attacked by several other local bands for absolutely no reason, other than the fact that they play different types of music. Since this childish occurance takes place more often than many realize, Day 163 took a stand against unneccessary fights between bands for no reason other than music genre difference. Day 163 organized the PA Summer Tour for the Summer of 2002 because "Music is music". "It's hard enough finding places to play in this area (SW PA) without bands hating one another for no reason other than the fact that they play different styles of music. Why can't punk bands play with hardkore bands, and pop punk bands play with metal bands? There's no reason why they can't, and that's what the PA Summer Tour 2002 is all about... uniting bands, and uniting music here in Southwestern PA, as well as the Tri-State Area."

In 2002, the members of Day 163 reconstructed the band. With new members, and a constantly changing life experience for each of the members, a new sound was introduced by Day 163. But to mark the end of the "old" Day 163... a Live CD, entitled "The Punk Thing To Do", was released in early 2002, and Day 163 decided that 2002 was the year to record their first full length CD, entitled "Emotion Vol. 1 : Heartache". These 2 CDs contain songs that represent the band's foundation. The CDs contain noteworthy songs, since many college and local radio stations across PA (including 105.9 FM - "THE X" - Pittsburgh) have played songs from these CDs. So be sure to pick up at least one of the two CDs at our next upcoming show!

In 2003, it happened. Since the band was a different machine than it originally started; Day 163 decided to change it's name... to "IN SIGHT OF JUNE". The band returned to the studio in May and began working on their fourth project during the Summer and Fall. The new CD will show what this current band is all about. The new songs will be a change from the punk and pop punk songs heard on "Emotion: Vol. 1", but won't be a completely off the wall different sound. As the members of the band have grown and matured, so has the music they have written, and the new CD (and new band name) hope to portray this maturity.

In 2004, the band finished work on their fourth CD, but the CD was not released because in July 2004, singer / guitarist Eric was involved in a car accident which left the band wounded. The other members decided to take some time off during Eric's recovery, for a much needed and well deserved break.

In 2005, the band reformed; just like it's symbol (the Phoenix). Durning the time off in 2004, the band refocused and refueled, and is back and better than ever!

The band is currently setting up some shows in Southwestern PA... the Connellsville, Greensburg, Irwin, Monroeville, Mt. Pleasant, Murrysville, Pittsburgh, Scottdale, and Uniontown areas, as well as the rest of the Tri-State area. We hope that everyone comes out, watches, and enjoys themselves... we love to play for the people (our fans) and for the enjoyment of sharing our music with others! We play because we love it, and that's how it should be!!! That's what music's about, and what it should be about!

You'll be able to find us involved in many other websites, such as, purevolume.com, farmclub.com, epitaph.com, as well as on napster. We would appreciate any help we could get as far as people voting for our music on farmclub.com, so please do take the time and vote - especially if you love punk as much as we do!

Day 163 was played on 105.9 "The X" for the first time in November 2002. We'd like to thank Vinnie and Whipping Boy at "The X" for playing our songs... "DAY 163" and "Proud To Be Free"!

If you'd still like to hear some Day 163 songs on the radio... check out 105.9 FM "The X" (WXDX Pittsburgh, PA) at http://www.wxdx.com
