With the deepest regret and anguish I must inform you that although there are several Arkansas Department of Correction officials and employees, and Arkansas citizens outside who deserve to have their stories of heroism, compassion, decency and kindness told to the world, the days of Arkansas and the ADC are still such that extending our deepest gratitude to them, both on behalf of the prisoners and their families and friends, would actually jeopardize them in the hands of the good ol' boys and among their peers. They would lose their jobs or be ostracized and criticized for their human decency and virtue.
To those who are the heroes, although these particular pages of this web site should be filled to the last line with your wonderful deeds, perhaps the circumstances will allow at least a trickle of your stories to be told here, one by one. Perhaps the day will come when your careers no longer need to be protected; when those who would turn even on you are all held to account and gone, and when your story can be fully told. May God be with you in all of your lives, and may you know that He has known the witnesses of your kindness, compassion and courage. Even should we ourselves still fail to be worthy of His salvation, you deserve His grace.
Please, you browsers and surfers of the internet, visit this page often, if you visit no other pages of the sites. Here will be written the legacies of those whom you should teach your children to emulate, and pray to God that they become like them.
This section may yet remain sparse for a long while to come, but the day will come when the stories will be told, and like the tiniest of mustard seeds they will begin in the dark and festering recesses of the soil and sickness of the good ol' boys but will grow to something of breathtaking light and beauty.
