The woman's role

Women have less rights in concordia than men. A woman's fate largely evolves around her father and the choices he makes for her. When women reach maturity, most are married off to acceptable mates, who provide for her. Some of these women live influencial or happy lives, their spouses treating them with proper dignity and respect. Other wome are given to men who treat women as little more that property. Many of these abuse their wives or ignore them. Some of these men are wealthy or famous, having greate harems full of women. The attitude towards women in harems is largely apathetic. Besides marriage, some women are sent to the priesthood like men. Here they have the best opportunity for equality with males, often times rising to positions of high authority. Women may also become soldiers. Those who demonstrate superior skill or strength are sent to become soldiers just like men. As soldiers, women must prove themselves to be capable, for many men will be there to shake their will and challenge their ability. This sometimes produces femal soldiers of exceptional durability and cunning, for they have it even tougher than the males. Lastly, females that cannot find a husband or are unsuitable for training in the priesthood, mage academys, or as a soldier are sacrificed (just like the men).
