Population
The life expectancy of most Concordian citizens is not very long. War costs many people their lives at an early age. Add to this the great Sien-dur, which ends the lives of many Oathtakers at a relatively young age, and you have a society who's population does not greatly expand. And although many individuals chose to have numerous children, their natural fearlessness of death causes many to chare unafraid into battle. Because of this, Concordia has not grown considerably scince the time of the great war. As a whole, there are more people now than then, however, not nearly as much as there would be if so many did not die in war. It is only speculation, but if the population where allowed to grown normally, it is likely that they would easily be able to conquer many of the regions that border them. Yet this is not the case, and many other regions beyond Concordias borders demonstrate vastly greater populations, thus deterring most thoughts of invasion. |
