CULTURE OF CONCORDIA
Seven distinct provinces make up concordia, each with their own laws, customs, relgious belives, and general ways of doing things. Yet, because of Concordias unification generations ago during the great war, they also share a basic culture that has entertained relatively few changes scince that time. Some of the basic ideals of that culter will be listed here.
1. Be faithful to your God, for there in lies your salvation.
2. Oathtakers are closer to god, thus deserving of more respect, status, and rewards in life.
3. Strength in combat is noble and glorious, intelligence is secondary.
4. Might is right.
5. Wealth is acceptable for great warriors, Shaars and Oathtakers, while in the hands of others it breeds distrust and sometimes loathing.
6. Slavery is fine, killing slaves is wastefull.
7. Personal decoration and flaunting of riches is prudent in peacetime, but foolish in times of war.
8. Duty is prime, loyalty next, honor is usefull when it doesn't get in the way of a good killing
9. Treachery is ok when things must change, otherwise it is the worst of crimes.
10. Gluttony is often loathed.
11. Inebriation is pathetic and weak, true warriors can drink all day without it affecting them.
12. Torture is essential.
13. Spying is a noble occupation.
14. Great war leaders are those who will sacrifice themselves for the sake of duty; Generals are not remembered for victories in which there was no blood spilled.
15. Cowardice is not only despised, it is also a crime in most communities.
16. If uncertain of someone's motives, be certain to kill them.
17. Hatred is ok.
18. Love and lust are one in the same.
19. Running from battle is not the same as cowardice, for every troop is valuable.
20. Loud and obnoxious music is favored by many.
21. Female warriors are respected, while females in general are treated as objects of paythings.
22. Public brawls are encouraged, but only when weapons are left behind or firmly sheathed.
23. Conversing with lessors is foolish.
24. Using lessors is to be commended. |
