THE BLACK MIST....

The Garlic Jr. saga starts off with a small bit of carnage. The evil little man himself is destroying a small village, and mercilessly killing a family. He and his four minions are laughing manically as they do so.

Gohan is racing a saber-toothed tiger, and winning, having great fun as he runs along. He stops just before a dead end, but the tiger can’t, and goes straight into it. Gohan then runs off, and jumps off a cliff, into some water, after stripping off to his underwear during the descent. He swims along playfully for a while, then starts to throw fishes out of the water, for his dinner. After he has piled a job load up, he goes to climb out of the water. A familiar figure greets him, in the form of Krillen, wearing a white suit. Gohan invites him in, but Krillen tells him that he has a car at the top of the hill, and he doesn’t want to get his clothes wet. Gohan talks him into having a quick dip though, and the two race off to the water. Before Krillen can dive in though, a voice shouts out to him. It is that of a woman. Krillen stops dead in his tracks, and turns round. From out of the car comes a woman who looks a little like Bulma. Her name is Marron. She tells Krillen to hurry up, and to get back in the car. Krillen says bye to Gohan, and informs him that there is a party at Roshi’s house later on. Gohan doesn’t know whether Chi-Chi will let him go, but he appreciates the offer none-the-less. Krillen walks up to the hill, and drives off with Marron. It takes Gohan a while, but he finally works out that Krillen has got a girlfriend!

Meanwhile, Kami has gone to speak with Piccolo, who is training against forms of himself. He goes back into one, and turns to Kami. The old, watcher of Earth asks Piccolo to become the new God, but he refuses, saying that he isn’t interested in the job. Kami understands, and goes back up to his lookout.

At Kami’s tower, Mr Popo is idly watering the plants, when he is disturbed by a collection of individuals, who fly around, destroying all of the architecture of the lookout. Mr. Popo is scared out of his mind at this point, but a voice orders everyone to stop. Surprisingly, these minions listen to the voice, and then bow, going down to one knee as the voices origination walks through the archway. The voice came from a small, hooded Namek, who looks up at Mr Popo, and they both recognize each other immediately. This gives Mr Popo quite a shock, but it makes the little man laugh. Mr Popo points out that he is Garlic Jr., and that they thought they had imprisoned him forever. He then goes on to tell the story of how it happened (See the movie review of movie 1 for a detailed account of what happens). Garlic Jr. pressures Mr Popo into telling him where Kami is, but the assistant won’t give in, and tries to escape on his magic carpet. The minions are too fast though, and they shoot some sort of web at Popo, which freezes him. Garlic Jr explains about the webs paralyzing people upon touching them, then goes on to blast Mr Popo with some sort of energy ball, which shrinks him dramatically down to size. Garlic holds Mr Popo, who is entrapped within the energy, in his hand, laughing evilly. He then walks off.

At Master Roshi’s house, everyone is having fun, with Krillen introducing Marron. When asked if she is his girlfriend, he says ‘no’ modestly, which excited Marron. She asks Yamcha is he is free to go on a date some time soon, and he agrees. Bulma hears this conversation, and tells Yamcha off, but he insists that they were only joking. Marron says she was serious though, and Krillen becomes very upset.

Elsewhere, Gohan is asking his mom if he can go to the party, but she is firmly saying no to him, and telling him to go do his studies. He reluctantly walks off into his room, but then sneaks out of his window. He is upset at disobeying his mom, but he gets over it, and jumps on Icarus, a small flying bird thing, and goes off to Roshi’s island.

On the lookout tower, Kami appears, to see the destruction that had been done. He is gob smacked by it, and orders that whoever did this come out and show themselves. Garlic Jr. steps out, and after getting over the initial shock, Kami realizes that Garlic was the only one who could produce such destruction. Garlic goes on at Kami for a while, then attacks. Kami manages to fly high, trying to avoid the energy beams. They follow him though, and he barely manages to deflect them with an energy shield. Garlic soars into the air, and gives Kami a small beating with his fists. After commenting on Garlic’s improved speed, Kami manages to fight Garlic off, blasting him down to the ground. He then powers up a beam of energy in his hand, ready to finish him off, when the four minions all shoot the paralyze web at him. Kami can’t move, and Garlic Jr gets up, then launches the energy beam that traps them, and shrinks them. Kami is now just as small as Mr Popo is. Garlic Jr laughs, and then says that he will become the new watcher of Earth.

The minions and Garlic walk into a room, looking for some sort of bottle. It is found easily, and Garlic Jr opens it, releasing some sort of black cloud. It spreads across the room, then out of the lookout tower, into the air. Garlic explains that it brings out the evil heart in everyone on the Earth, which means that they will soon be attacking each other, and obeying him!

The cloud spreads over the land, shrouding everything in a purple mist. Seeing the mist, Gohan jerks Icarus around, and tries to outrun it, although it soon becomes obvious that they aren’t fast enough, as the cloud gets how on the their heels. Icarus spots a cave, and turns to go in there. It is very narrow, so Icarus first jerks to a halt, so that Gohan goes flying in, then floats away a little, as to get a run up. The bird then flies at full speed into the hole, getting stuck half way, but it’s ok, just got its legs sticking out. The mist passes, and the two of them climb out of the cave, down to the ground. Gohan goes to say hello to some of the animals. He walks up to them, and attempts to greet them, but they lunge at him, trying to attack him. He can’t work out what is wrong with them, as they surround him. Gohan is very scared, as is Icarus, but they manage to escape by flying off the side of the cliff. Wondering what was wrong with the animals, Gohan continues his journey to Master Roshi’s house.

Meanwhile, at Roshi’s house, they are messing around playfully, with Bulma making fun of Krillen for not being able to catch any fish, and Yamcha and Puar joining in with the laughing. Marron comes out, dressed in a stunning swimsuit, to play around with Krillen. That bald-headed former monk gets all embarrassed by this, but he is grateful of it all the same, as he apparently has a crush on her. The two swim around, playfully grabbing at each other and pulling one another under, but they have to duck sharply when a plane comes across, almost knocking Krillen out. It lands on Roshi’s island, and out walks a very angry Chi-Chi. She is on the warpath as she demands to know where Gohan is. No one knows, so she says that she’ll wait for him, calling everyone bad influences. Marron sticks up for them, calling Chi-Chi a grandma. This makes the wife of Goku angry as she powers up, and charges at Marron. She is held by the combined efforts of Bulma, Roshi and Yamcha though. Krillen quickly takes Marron over to the water, where she can escape from Chi-Chi. The two of them rush into the water, and duck under, in a hope to avoid Chi-Chi’s wrath for a little longer. They forget about her, and start playing underneath it. While they are underneath it though, a purple cloud spreads across the sea, and Roshi’s island. Chi-Chi is still struggling to get free so she can take on Marron, and she screams as the cloud comes towards her. It engulfs the four people there, and they are immersed in it.

Krillen and Marron pop up from underneath the water, to see that everyone has gone. Gohan arrives on the scene at this point, and says hello to the two. Krillen informs him that Chi-Chi is here, and this makes Gohan bow his head in shame, and worry. Krillen tells him that Chi-Chi is in a particularly bad mood at the moment too. Marron talks Krillen into taking the blame for Gohan though, and he can’t help but say yes, what with him fancying her and all. They get ready to go to Chi-Chi, who is in the house.

Meanwhile, at Kami’s lookout, Garlic Jr is talking to some sort of shrine, representing his father, and telling it that he will being him back with a wish from the dragonballs, so that he can rules the Earth. Kami also tells Mr. Popo that Garlic will summon the serpent warriors from the depths of hell, to take over the world for him.

THE MIST TAKES EFFECT....

Back at Roshi’s house, the gang are finally facing up to their punishment. Krillen explains to Chi-Chi that it was his fault that Gohan came, and he’s sorry. Chi-Chi has a mean look in her eyes though, and small fangs. She walks towards them like a zombie, and then slaps Gohan in the face, knocking him to the floor. The poor kid doesn’t understand what’s wrong, as Chi-Chi goes to attack again. She follows him all round the house, trying to hit him, until he eventually is forced to fight back, throwing Chi-Chi off the roof. He feels really guilty, but when he goes to check on her, she gets up, and swipes at him again. Krillen is having the same problem, but with Yamcha and Bulma. He narrowly avoids a kick from Yamcha, but is soon thrown through the wall of Roshi’s hut, near Gohan. Marron has Roshi himself to deal with, and tries to stop him by throwing everything he can at him. It doesn’t work though. He continues to advance. Krillen tells Gohan that something is wrong (DUH!) and that they have got to fight back. He runs at Roshi, and kicks him away from Marron, saving her. As it looks like the three have got some hope after all, four demon creatures land. They tell Gohan, Krillen and Marron that the purple cloud was what bought out the evil in their friends, which is why they are attacking them. They tell them (In true Bond style) that the only way to stop it is to get the sacred water from Kami’s lookout, where Garlic Jr is. Gohan remembers this name, and staggers back, pondering a way out of this situation. He decides to fight, threatening them to change his mother back, before running at them all. They all use an attack which paralyzes Gohan in mid air. It looks like it is over for the kid until a blast soars down, knocking all the demons back The demons are the minions of Garlic Jr that were seen earlier, that fact is clear now. The origination of the blast came from on top of Roshi’s hut. There stands Piccolo, his cape blowing in the wind. Gohan is delighted to finally see him again, as a wide grin spreads across his face. The minions recognize Piccolo, and tell him that Garlic Jr can kill Piccolo any time he wishes, as he has Kami held captive (If Kami dies, so does Piccolo, and vice versa). This shocks Piccolo slightly, but he keeps a cool look about him, as the minions circle him, along with all of the possessed good guys. It looks as if Gohan, Krillen, Marron and Piccolo are the only ones who haven’t been affected by this cloud. Piccolo gets ready to fight, as everyone surrounds him.

Piccolo asks how an idiot like Garlic Jr could have escaped from the dead zone, so Spice takes the liberty of explaining. A star came into alignment with the planets, but this star was a special star. When it was into the correct alignment, it lets all evil run amok over the universe, as it is at its strongest point when this happens. It happens only once every 1,200 years, which meant that this was Garlic Jr’s only chance to escape. He charged up to his full extent, and managed to shatter the dead zone which held him captive. After this, he went up to Kami’s, and assaulted him, imprisoning him in the bottle.

Gohan and Krillen look on curiously, as they see Piccolo preparing to fight the ones named ‘The Spice Boys’. He runs in, and goes to chop one, but the attack is easily dodged, as the defender appears behind him. Piccolo turns round, and prepares to go all out. Before he can attack again though, he is hit in the back by a blast. Standing behind him is Yamcha, giggling incessantly. Piccolo turns to him, and is forced to fight. He charges, at they exchange blows for a while with neither man able to get a shot in, until Piccolo kicks Yamcha to the ground. He states that the real Yamcha would have put up a far better challenge. The Namek turns to the ‘Spice Boys’, and prepares to attack once again, but for the second time, zombie Yamcha attacks him from behind, this time smashing him down to the sea, with Piccolo managing to stop himself just in time. Yamcha flies back onto the island, and gives an evil smile. Piccolo lowers his head, then goes down to join everyone on Kame’s island. He holds out his hand, and apologizes to everyone for what he is about to do. He charges up an energy blow, when two hands come from out of the ground and grab his heels. Gohan looks on in horror, wanting to do something, but knowing that he is helpless against them. Piccolo is rooted to the spot, as Yamcha runs in, and uses the fangs that he grew when turning evil, to bite Piccolo on the neck, rather like a vampire. He sinks his teeth in, with the Namek in great pain. Yamcha dives off after having a nibble, but Piccolo is still not down. He is standing there, weak from the attack, and powerless to do an awful lot. Two of the ‘Spice Boys’ appear behind Piccolo, and grabs his arms, so that he can’t move at all now. The other two come out of the ground, and start laughing. In dive all of the people who had turns evil on the island, to have themselves a snack on Piccolo’s neck. Piccolo screams out in pain as they all bite him, with Gohan running in. Piccolo orders him to stay back, and to go get the sacred water. Spice informs them that their friends will be permanently like this after 24 hours, and not even the sacred water will be able to save them after that. Gohan reluctantly flies off to Kami’s tower, with tears running down his eyes, as Piccolo’s pain intensifies. Krillen goes with him, and Icarus picks up Marron, who insists on going. They all head off to Kami’s tower.

Piccolo charges up as much as he can, delivering such a force, that everyone goes flying backwards. He collapses onto the floor, after using up all his energy.

The ‘Spice Boys’ start to talk about the effects of the bites, saying that the venom acted very quickly, and that Piccolo would soon be one of them. The bite from one of those zombies turn the others into zombies too. A short while after the conversation took place, Piccolo got up. He had that mad look in his eyes. It looks as if he has been possessed too!

Krillen and Gohan cautiously go into Karin’s tower, carefully treading, being as quiet as they can. They are worried that Karin may have inhaled the purple fog. Footsteps are heard, and Karin pops up. He greets them in his usual way, and everyone gives a sigh of relief. Yajirobe follows closely. Marron starts shouting and saying how cute Karin is. Yajirobe sees her, and asks who she is. When Gohan tells him that it is Krillen’s girlfriend, he flips. He starts blabbering on about how an ugly guy like Krillen doesn’t deserve a girlfriend. Karin reads Gohan and Krillen’s minds, and tells them that time is of the essence. Before he can say any more, the two young warriors are off, leaving Marron behind with the wise cat. Karin moans at him, then starts to get flustered when Marron strokes him.

THE SPICE BOYS VS. GOHAN AND KRILLEN

Krillen and Gohan land on Kami’s lookout, searching for Garlic Jr. He reveals himself from out of the shadows, and starts laughing manically. Gohan and Krillen know what they must do, and they charge at the little evil being. A blast is shot just in front of them though, and they jerk to a halt. Looking up, they can see Piccolo. Gohan is overjoyed at Piccolo being alive, and is about to go up to him when Krillen holds him back. He rightly says that Piccolo is different. The Namek has that look in his eyes, and is looking sinister, as he advances on the two of them. Gohan sees it too, and is confused on whether he should fight his best friend.

Piccolo isn’t required to fight just yet, and Spice holds him back, to prevent him from taking Gohan on just yet.

Garlic Jr walks up to Gohan, and starts to taunt him. He manages to anger him to the point where Gohan charges up, then charges at the little immortal symbol of evil. It appears as though Garlic Jr avoided it. The old Namek turns round (Yes, Garlic Jr is a Namek) and he walks past Gohan laughing. Once he steps past the kid, blood starts to come down his face. He wipes it off, and angrily tells his minions to beat him up a bit, but keep him alive so that Goku comes. He remembers what Gohan did to him before, and is slightly scared. He raises a throne from the floor, sits on it, and orders that the fight commences.

The one who steps forward to fight is a small, red Spice Boy. He decides that he will take on Gohan, and a tall demon, with horns decides to take on Krillen. This leaves the other two of the Spice Boys watching. Gohan looks at Piccolo, unable to understand what is wrong with him. The red Spice Boy tells Gohan to attack, but when he doesn’t, he does so himself. Gohan is caught out not concentrating, as he is slammed in the face, and knocked across Kami’s lookout. Gohan stops skidding right on the edge, looking badly hurt. Krillen runs over to him to help, but the demon taking him on easily catches him up, and hits him in the face, knocking him to the floor.

In Karin’s tower Marron is exercising, listening to a beat, and working hard. Yajirobe and Karin can’t believe how much she wants to exercise. She tells them both that they could do with losing a bit of weight themselves, making them go bright red. She wants something to eat, so the two of them dash down to the kitchen to make some grub. Yajirobe tells Karin that he doesn’t have a chance with her, as he fancies her, but Karin won’t listen. He finishes making the food, and runs up the stairs to give it to his guest.

Back on Kami’s lookout, Krillen is struggling badly. He tries to fight back, but his opponent is too fast (The demon with horns) and dodges every attack, before grabbing Krillen’s face, and constantly slamming it off his knee. Krillen falls down, in massive amounts of pain. He struggles to his feet, able to see Gohan getting up too. Gohan is knocked right down though, then stamped on multiple times by the red guy. Gohan is hurt seriously now, and he is having major trouble getting up. He eventually makes it to his feet, staggering a bit, with his back to his opponent. the red guy fires up an energy blast, and shoots it at Gohan. Using incredible speed, Krillen gets in the way. The red guy is surprised by this, so he fires a multitude of shots at him, with such intensity that the bald guys clothes are ripped right off. As soon as the blasts finish, Krillen drops to the floor, telling Gohan to beat them all for him, Chi-Chi, and Piccolo. The Spice Boys make a big mistake by laughing at Gohan, and taunting him. This only frustrates, and angers him. After a short while, Gohan looks up to them, with a look of hatred in his eyes. The aura around him is absolutely huge as he slowly advances on his enemies. They know that they can’t take him on individually, so they try to get their partner to go first, but in the end, they agree to double team. Forming a huge, purple ball of energy between them, they fire the blast at Gohan, with an enormous explosion occurring on impact. It fills the whole of Kami’s beautiful lookout, leaving only a small spot behind Gohan, where Krillen lies. The bald-headed former monk looks up, and thinks that it is all over. As the smoke clears, a massive smile for.
