| About 1 in 10,000 births are a newborn with Cystic Fibrosis, an uncureable lung disease. Old Northern European Folklore says that babies with Cystic Fibrosis are bewitched and soon must die. Tragically, 30 years ago life expectancy for CF patients was 8 years old. Now, due to advanced medical treatments, the life expectancy is just under 30. In spite of this, only 50% of patients surpass the age of 20, and few live past 35. Scientists and Doctors continue to search for a cure to this deadly disease, Cystic Fibrosis. |
