| The Prime Mover ... Cerwin T. Eviota |
CERWIN T. EVIOTA is the prime mover of the company. He is a noted PR strategist and consultant on corporate affairs, marketing communication and social advocacy, and is a very familiar personality in media circles in the Visayas and Mindanao.
PR crisis and issues management is his forté and being people-oriented makes him good in community relations work, making his clients become more understanding, sensitive and responsive to the needs of their stakeholders.
Equally noted are his works in advertising and promotions and in events marketing.
At work, he has always been guided by Christ's words: "Whatsoever you do to the least of your brothers, that you do unto Me." Thus, he makes it a point to serve his clients and deal with his client's stakeholders guided by these words.
Before shifting to PR, he was a noted journalist in 1987 to 1993. He organized in 1991 and managed for three years the Visayas Bureau of Philippine Daily Inquirer. He earlier worked for the Inquirer as correspondent from 1988 and was instrumental in setting up its nationwide news bureau system.
He started his career as a journalist at 18 in The Freeman where he was acknowledged as a productive reporter with unquestioned credibility. He was promoted as deskman in just a year and shortly served as acting News Editor until 1991.
Many of those he worked with and the budding journalists he trained are now holding key positions in various media outlets in Cebu and in capital cities in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Cerwin also worked for international news agencies like United Press International, Japanese News Agency (Jiji Press), Kyodo News Service and Union for Catholic Asian News. He also wrote for Mr. & Ms. Agri-Business Magazine and Ang Pilipino Ngayon.
Cerwin shifted to corporate PR work late in 1993 when he formed Cebu Business Communication Corp. with the late Xavier C. Ledesma, a long-time San Miguel Corp. executive and a PR institution. As industrial partner, he served as Vice President for Public and Industrial Relations. A year after, he organized Frontline Business Communication Corp. with a fellow former journalist and served as chairman and managing director.
On the side, Cerwin is an outstanding member and a noted leader of the Junior Chamber International in the Philippines. A Certified National Trainer of JCI University, he serves as Philippine chair of the National Training Commission for 2005.
Born on September 21, 1967, he studied Industrial Psychology at the University of San Carlos and learned Electro-Mechanics and work values at Don Bosco Technical High School. He is married and has three children. |
