Opponent 1: Cooltrainer Connor

Connor has this nasty little move called the Hyper Beam. Make sure you avoid it. Choose Cubone, Pikachu, and Shuckle, and then use Shuckle to absorb the beam. Now swap in one of the other two to pummel the opponent. Repeat this until he's defeated.

Opponent 2: Cooltrainer Becky

Becky's a fast one. You'll need to select Raticate, Raichu, and Scyther, and have all of them use Agility in the first round of attack. Believe it or not, Scyther can take on the team himself, though he could use a little bit of help from using Endure and Reversal.

Opponent 3: Juggler Ferris

Ferris is the 3rd of your 4 challenges, and he presents a huge challenge. His Pokemon will eat you alive unless you use the following Pokemon strategy:

Golem: Use Rollout and Defensive Curl

Steelix: Creeper combo, Toxic and Rage

Poliwrath: Mindreader and Dynamicpunch

Opponent 4: Swimmer Julian

Okay, you saw the swimmer tag and you thought, "Uh-oh, water attacks." Well, you thought right. To drown this final challenger of the school, you will need Exeggutor, Jumpluff, and Houndoom. Use the Sunny Day to cancel out Julain's water attack, and then use Solar Beam.

That's it, you graduated!

Opponent 1: Pokemaniac Joseph

Joe's got some female Pokemon that can be dealt with in a rather amusing way. Choose Gastly, Raichu, and Lanturn, and then use Laturn first by combining Attract and Confuse Ray.

Opponent 2: Kimono Girl Naomi

Naomi is a fan of the ghost type Pokemon. Select Politoed, Poliwhirl, and Primeape as your crew. You will need to first use Primeape to tackle Murkrow, and then swap in one of the other two to take care of the rest.

Opponent 3: Lass Tammy

Tammy's got this thing for using the dual attack Pokemon. Which means there are twice the weak points. Prepare Spinarak, Mareep, and Wooper for battle. Each of the Pokemon will be able to take out a specific enemy. Spinarak can deal with Bellossom, Wooper will take out Magcargo, and Marceep will dominate Gyarados.

Opponent 4: Youngster Dustin

Dustin thinks he's all sneaky because he uses the Dig and Fly commands with his Pokemon. You can show off your sneakiness by choosing Magneton, Aerodactyl, and Seadra. Use Earthquake on the Diggers, use the Twister on airborne Pokemon, and then use Lock-On on all of them.

Opponent 5: Schoolboy Nolan

Nolan's big thing is to counter special attacks, which means you need to get back to the nitty gritty physical stuff. Choose Mr. Mime, Jynx, and Staryu, and just pound away at them.

Hey you, want access to some of the Beginner Class answers?

When you enter the classroom, you'll be able to read through all the books in the library, as well as listen to Earl's lectures. Once you're done with the lectures, you'll be able to take a 10-question quiz to see if you pass. Listed below are several of the most common questions. If there is a question with multiple answers, it means that only one answer is present, but it could be one of those three. Other questions are set up in the same format, with just different Pokemon listed (like the "1.5 damage" question), make sure you pay attention to which Pokemon is in the question. Remember, this isn't a complete list, and it's only for the Beginner Class quiz. I can help you study, but you need to pass your Academy Training on your own abilities.

In Earl's Trainer Class, you'll have to take on other students who are also learning how to use their Pokemon. Here are your opponents and how you should tackle them.

Each selection is the correct combo to get the Star Award once you defeat the opponent.

==Trainer Class==

Opponent 1: Camper Cole

Cole uses Grass Pokemon, so your best choice is to pick Growlithe, Pidgeotto, and Beedrill.

Opponent 2: Super Nerd Melvin

Melvin is checking out what his Fire Pokemon can do. You'll need to put the freeze on him, as well as wash him away. Choose Stantler, Furret, and Miltank as your team. Roll out and Surf will knock his team out cold.

Opponent 3: Schoolboy Carson

Carson's got a wide variety of critters, so you should too. Pick Hitmonlee, Magmar, and Bellossom as your team.

Opponent 4: Swimmer Clayton

Clayton is all about bragging and defense. Drown his ego by choosing Murkrow, Pinsir, and Dragonair. They're fast, and the set-damage they do will whittle away the acid armor.

Opponent 5: Youngster Jonathan

This little whippersnapper has some serious damage to him. Use the Pokemon's alternate attack method for the first wave, and then attack afterwards. You should pick Aerodactyl, Delibird, and Crocanaw. Be sure to use their evasive maneuvers only after you use the alternate attack (ie use Fly).

Opponent 6: Picnicker Cyndy

Cyndy relies too much on her Amnesia assault. Just keep bashing away with Lickitung, Granbull, and Fearow and you'll be okay.

Opponent 7: Lass Nancy

Okay...this isn't fair. She's got double team. You will need Golblat for his Haze move, Noctowl for his foresight, and Eevee's Swift attack.
