CATCHING/EVOLVING POKEMON
Although catching/evolving Pokemon are basically the same between the Red and Blue Fields, there are some differences. Here's how you do it.
Catching Pokemon: Red Field:
1. Every time a pinball goes the whole way around the right loop, you'll see a Catch 'em Arrow.
2. After lighting up at least 2 Catch 'em Arrows, shoot the ball into the Bellsprout to start the Catch 'em Mode.
3. On the Pokemon Panel, you can see a silhouette of the Pokemon you can catch (you have 2 minutes to do so). Shoot the ball at the Voltorbs. Each time the ball hits one, it will reveal 1/6 of a picture. 6 hits reveals the whole picture.
4. Once the picture is revealed, a Pokemon will appear. Hit the Pokemon 3 times until you see the word CATCH.
5. Hitting the creature 1 more time, after the CATCH appears will capture it.
Catching Pokemon: Blue Field:
1. Every time a pinball goes the whole way around the right loop, you'll see a Catch 'em Arrow.
2. After lighting up at least 2 Catch 'em Arrows, shoot the ball into the Cloyster to start the Catch 'em Mode.
3. On the Pokemon Panel, you can see a silhouette of the Pokemon you can catch (you have 2 minutes to do so). Shoot the ball at the Shellders.
Evolving Pokemon: Red Field:
1. Every time a pinball goes the whole way around the left outside loop, you'll see an Evolution Arrow.
2. After lighting up at least 3 Evolution Arrows, Ditto will move out of the way to the Evolution Cave, so shoot the pinball into the area Ditto was blocking.
3. Now a menu that lists the Pokemon you've caught so far in the current game will appear. (Note: This isn't a list of all of the Pokemon in your Pokedex.) If a star appears in front of a Pokemon's name, that means it's fully evolved.
4. After selecting a Pokemon to evolve, green arrows will appear on the field. Some contain items you are looking for, some contain nothing.
5. Hitting a correct location with the ball will cause an item to appear in a random location on the field. Collecting that item will cause a symbol to appear under the Pokemon Panel.
6. After you collect 3 items, the Bonus Cave will open above the Pokemon Panel, so shoot the ball into the hole to evolve the Pokemon.
Evolving Pokemon: Blue Field:
1. Every time a pinball goes the whole way around the left outside loop, you'll see an Evolution Arrow.
2. After lighting up at least 3 Evolution Arrows, shoot a ball into Slowpoke to begin the Evolution Mode.

TIPS/TRICKS
Erase All Game Data:
Before the screen displays its copyright info, Hold Up, Right, Select, and Start.
Then press A to erase all data or B to cancel it.
Reset Game:
During gameplay, press Start, Select, A, and B all at the same time.
Catch Rare Pokemon Quicker
Instead of lighting 2 Catch 'em Arrows, try to light up all 3. This increases the chance of a rare Pokemon appearing. This doesn't mean a rare Pokemon will ALWAYS appear, but the chances are better.
Easy Points:
1. If you Evolve a Pokemon that can't be evolved (like Golem or Farfetch'd), you'll get a bonus 10,000,000 points called Evolution Special.
2. After upgrading your ball to Master Ball (it's highest level), light up all of the Field Multiplier Lanes to get a bonus of 10,000,000 points called Field Multiplier Special. |
