Note: Final Fantasy 6 was originally released as Final Fantasy 3 on the SNES in
Japan.
Hint: Finding Shiva (Final Fantasy 5):
Go to Waltz Castle and walk into the water on the roof. Find the large waterfall, walk
into the middle of it, and continue to walk up the stairs until you see a glowing ball.
Walk up and talk to the ball. Fight and defeat Shiva to get her as a summon.

Get the airship and fly to Easterly Falls, up in the northwest corner of the map. Walk
around in the forest until you encounter Ramuh. Fight and defeat Ramuh to get him as

Hint: Extra ABP (Final Fantasy 5):
In Phoenix Tower, after every few stairs you will reach a room with two pots, one on
each side of the room. One of the pots contain money, but the other contains a
monster. The enemy is called "Magic Pot" and will not attack you. He will say "Gimme
Elixer". Use an Elixer on him and he will reward with 100 ABP and an item. This is
possibly the easiest way to master tiems like Mimes, Samurais, Chemists, and
Ninjas.

Hint: Get Hydra Summon (Final Fantasy 5):
In World 3, use the airship to return to the pirate's base in the middle of the mountains.
As you enter, Faris will appear and run to the right side of the base. He sees an
illusion of Hydra. You will then get to summon Hydra, who uses the very useful attack,
Thunder.

Hint: Mirage Town (Final Fantasy 5):
Get the airship and fly to Cresent Island. Head to the middle of the joined continent,
and land next to a forest there. Walk around in the forest until it seems you have gotten
into a battle. The screen will be fuzzy instead of the normal swirl for starting a battle.
This town has extremely good weapons, 6 level six magic spells, and great armor.
There are two shops in every store, so search around the town.

Hint: Black Chocobo in World 3 (Final Fantasy 5):
Fly to Mirage Town and stand near the pub. If you go around through a back door, you
will appear behind the counter of the pub. Check the barrels below you to get a useful
weapon, the Thief's Knife. Head left to find some stairs, and continue through the area.
Put on the "Secret" ability or make one of your characters a thief. Head through a
secret passage to find a door, and past that, a piano. Play the Piano and head
through the door to find the Black Chocobo.

Hint: Chicken Knife or Brave Sword (Final Fantasy 5):
Go to the town of Moore in World 3. Head southwest to find a barn-like location. Enter
it to find yourself in the forest below. Wander around until you find a wizard who will tell
to pick from two crates. Pick the right one for the Chicken Knife, or the left one for the
Brave Sword. The Chicken Knife can be easily powered-up, up so it is even more
powerful than the Excalibur. The Brave Sword powers up when you win battles, the
Chicken Knife powers up when you run.

Hint: Magic Summoning Lamp (Final Fantasy 5):
In World 3, take Boko northeast then west until you reach the top of Easterly Falls.
Walk into the waterfall and press X to get the Magic Lamp. It will summon in this order:
Bahamut, Leviathan, Odin, Hydra, Carbuncle, Golem, Titan, Ifrit, Ramuh, Shiva,
Remora, Sylph, Chocobo. It uses no MP if you are summoning weak monsters, or
none. Return to the same location to refill it.

Hint: Defeating Wrexsoul (Final Fantasy 6):
Take Gogo, a character that has the X-Zone spell, and a character with the Vanish
spell. Make sure Gogo has the Magic skill equipped, and not Runic (it is useless in
this battle). Cast Vanish on the two creatures, and then use X-Zone. They will die and
you will win the battle. Your rewards are the Aura, Cyan, and the Alexander Esper. It is
useful in battle against creatures such as Doomgaze, which is weak against Pearl.

Hint: Defeating Kefka for the final time (Final Fantasy 6):
When fighting Kefka for the final time in Kafka's tower, throw the Atma weapon. He
should either die or be weak enough to be defeated with one more hit.

Hint: Defeating almost every Boss (Final Fantasy 6):
To kill almost every Boss in the game, cast Vanish then Doom to kill it. The Vanish
makes the Boss always get hit by magic spells.

Get an Exp. Egg and fight some Tyranos in the forests above the veldt at the World Of

In the World Of Balance, go to the triangular island in the very top right corner. Keep
walking around until encountering the invisible monster called Intangir. Simply chant

Cactros that has 3 HP, but is hard to hit and is immune to almost all magic. Use

Hint: Give Gogo any commands (Final Fantasy 6):
Go to Gogo's status screen. Look at his commands. You will see Mimic and three
empty slots below it. Choose one of the empty slots and a list of all of the commands
from the other characters you have will appear. Choose the one you want, then do the
same with the other two slots. For example, you can have Mimic, Blitz, Tools, and
Swordtech all at the same time, if desired.

Equip Locke with Offering and Genji Glove. Then, give him the Atma weapon Valiant

On the floating continent in the World Of Balance, you can steal a Genji Glove from the
Dragon. Bring Locke along and equip him with either a Genji Glove and the Thieve's
Glove (or the Steal Ring and the Thieve's Glove). The dragon also carries a potion.

Hint: Easy Catrot battles (Final Fantasy 6):
You will find a creature called the Cactrot in the desert southwest of Maranda. It only
has 3 HP, an extremely high Evade. Equip your characters with a Sniper Sight and a
Genji Glove to take off 2 HP every time it is attacked. This can also be helpful when
you face a Catrot in the coliseum.

Equip the Economizer and Gem Box relics to allow you attack two times for 2 MP.
Make sure you know the magic Quicke, then enter a battle. Cast Quicke followed by

Hint: Throw anything twice (Final Fantasy 6):
The following trick allows you to throw anything twice, even if you only have one of the
item. Have Gogo mimic Shadow to throw the same item twice. Note. If you throw an
item that you have more than one of, Gogo will use his own and you will lose two items
instead of one.

Music test (Japanese version):
Enter B-G-M-Ki-Ki-Ta-I as a name.
Control screen brightness (Japanese version):
Press L1 to increase or R1 to decrease the brightness in the "Sound Novel".
Score challenge mode (Japanese version):
Obtain the Book Of Life in Chapter two. Stop reading the book before reaching the
"Good Ending". Then, read through the book again to access a hidden "Score
Challenge mode". This mode allows the Chocobo Race sequence to be played for
money.
Hint: Obtaining strong weapons:
Enter the Deep Dungeon (or explore around the Deep Dungeon) and fight random
battles. After awhile a battle with a few male ninjas and one female ninja will begin.
The ability catch on all of you characters must be present. Kill all of the male ninjas
during the beginning of the battle. Then, wait until the female ninja throws a weapon
(Chaos blade, Nagra rock, etc). Since you have the catch ability on, the weapons will
be yours.

Hint: Obtaining rare move find items:
When obtaining move find items that are spread throughout the game, step on the
panel that has the item hidden beneath and lower your brave level. This increases the
chances of obtaining a rare item.

Hint: Cloning swords:
The sword to be cloned must be weaker than any other sword that can be purchased.
First, change your character to a Knight and equip two swords on him or her. Then,
equip the sword to be clone in your character's lower hand and a shield in the upper
hand. Go to a shop, select best fit, and purchase it. Your character should now have
two of the desired sword.

Note: Orlandu must on your team to perform this trick. The sword to be cloned must be
weaker than any other sword that can be purchased. Change Orlandu to his primary

and a shield in the upper hand. Go to a shop, select best fit, and purchase it. Your
character should now have two of the desired sword.
